RENAULT MEGANE CC testRENAULT MEGANE COUPE CABRIOLET This is the 3rd generation of the Megane CC. While at first glance the front end reminds us of its heritage the sleek lines at the rear are new. 21 seconds is how long the retractable glass top needs to open. A kinematics that is only possible at rest in order to avoid any worries and guarantee a better level of waterproof ness. Once the top is down, the boots pace reduces from 417 cubic litres to 211, which is still quite reasonable. The interior of this four-passenger CC is well done. The leather used is first rate and the two rear seats have the same lateral support of a bucket seat, but there still isn’t much leg room. Whereas at the front it is as comfortable as you could want. There are seven engines to choice from with the Megane CC. We went for the 160 brake horsepower 2-litre DCi. While being silent and agreeable it does lack a bit of punch to cope with its portly weight of1600 kilograms. While the Megane has unquestionable driving qualities, thanks in part to the stiffened chassis, it is more about cruising about with the wind blowing through your hair thanks to a fine level of comfort and if you do augment the speed there is little turbulence. The six-speed manual gearbox is smooth and precise, making for an even more enjoyable drive. This new Megane Coupe Convertible has retained the ingredients that made it s predecessor at hit. First rate comfort, hard top and a clean design, while remaining classic. The entry level CC sells for €24 900, while the 160brake horsepower version you see here goes for €31 600.
