Kawasaki ZX-6R 636 test

Intro: ALL GREEN WITH E HUGE HEART

Kawasaki ZX-6R 636It is difficult not to succumb to the new lines of the ZX6R 636! In fact, Kawasaki has gone half way in gaining capacity. The fourth generation is brutal, aggressive and measures in at 636cm3. The new green machine isn't far from the diabolical 666, as it is a true speed demon.

Esthetique: AGGRESSIVE AND FAST

Kawasaki ZX-6R 636For this new motor, Kawasaki employees all of its know how. The design of the new ZX 6R 636 is aggressive, its optics are very sharp and the air intakes are disproportionate, anyway all is there for little bit of Grand Prix atmosphere.
Like all the sport bikes, the rear and front shocks are adjustable to the style of the rider. The controls are all standard Japanese issue and the finish is well kept.
The instrumentation stays traditional in regard to the competition, which have gone with digital gauges. We regret however, that Kawasaki made the impasse on the gas gauge. The two-place seat allows envisioning the possibility of transporting a passenger. As for the arrangements, it takes just a turn of the screwdriver to adjust the suspension.

Motorization: DIABOLICAL

Kawasaki ZX-6R 636The new ZX 6R, is certainly a new motor. The 4-cylinder in-line of the ZX-6R has suddenly gained two mm to arrive at a final capacity of 636 cm3. An increase in capacity that allows it to develop 106 horsepower at 12500 rpm and reach a torque level of 7mkg at 9500 rpm. By becoming a 636, the ZX 6R has become the most amusing sport bike to ride in the class. The absence of injection, which can be associated with a retarded technology from Kawasaki, however there is a reason. It is no there for "straight lining" the acceleration and stopping all the knocks of the motor. It being, the 636 is evidence of flexibility and a healthy character at the same time. Under 5000 rpm, it is docile and easy to control. At 7500 revs the 106 horsepower comes in progressively and launches the rider with its already stifling acceleration. At 11500 revs it goes into orbit and keeps going until it hits its top of 14500 revs. Anyway, a motor rich with sensations capable of propelling the ZX-R over the 250km/h barrier.

On the road: SURPRISING

Kawasaki ZX-6R 636To keep this beast on the ground, the chassis is built to the same high standards as the motor and we find it difficult to find the limits of this incredible duo. There are no limits to the performance level of the chassis.
The only criticism we can find lies in the suspension. There is to much flexibility, especially at slow speeds were the bike rebounds to much on the bumps, hence it is obligatory to enlarge the trajectory while the forks plunge to much under braking. Since the ZX-R is very comfortable for a sport bike. The brakes perform well and do not lack grip will staying stable.
The windjammer is small and is especially inclined, as it should be, to offer maximum protection.
