AIS: MSA unveils Team UK drivers

The Motor Sports Association announced the ten young drivers that will join the new ‘Team UK’ scheme at Autosport International at the weekend.

The programme replaces the Rally and Race Elite programmes and the selected drivers will be given full physical and mental training as well as access to other programmes in order to boost the potential.

Six racing drivers and four rally drivers have been placed on the scheme which will see former WRC co-driver Robin Reid guiding the youngster’s careers with coaching programmes to be undertaken by David Brabham’s ‘Brabham Performance Clinic’.

“We realise that there was a high degree of shared content between the race and rally schemes, so it made sense to bring them together,” said Reid.

“It will enable the programme to become more focused and more select. Team UK will become a recognisable badge of honour and young drivers will aspire to join the UK national squad. Every member of the squad understands what a fantastic opportunity this is.
