Yep, it's good new indeed. I wonder how fast the Volvo is compared to the BMW's and Chevy's?

I have seen the S60, it's not the best looking car in the world, but it's not exactly ugly either.

Good news about Volvo imo, and it will be good to see Robert Dahlgren compete against the top names of the WTCC. Must say I do rate Dahlgren a bit and I'm sure he will impress people when he is competing at Anderstorp. For anyone who doubts Volvo touring car credentials, just look who won the 1985 DTM Championship, Per Stureson in a Volvo 240 Turbo

Yep, Volvo have been very successful in touring cars, they went okay in the BTCC as well. I hope they go well, however they don't know the Yokama tyre, so they might struggle. I hear that bio fuel can actually increase the power compared to petrol, so the Volvo could be fast despite the tyre disadvantage.

Didn't know that, although if that is the case then perhaps they could upset a few of the big boys. It will be interesting to see how they get on considering the series is going over to biofuel in 2009, which could prove very interesting indeed.

I think the series going bio fuel is good to be honest, bio fuel actually increases the bhp, so it's good as far as we are concerned. However, biofuel doesn't fit into BMW's marketing, they prefer to concentrate on Hydrogen, so BMW could quit the WTCC.

Personally I think it would be quite difficult for BMW to quit the series given their track record over the past few years, and I reckon they could still run on biofuel, despite it not fitting in with their marketing plan. How long however before Hydrogen is allowed in motorsport? Also with the series going to biofuel, will we see a return from the 'green' manufacturers, such as Honda and Toyota?

I've heard lots of rumours about Toyota and Honda entering, but nothing has ever happened. BMW could run on bio fuel, but for car makers entering motorsport is all about marketing, and there motorsport programme's have to reflect what customers can buy in the showroom, especially in touring cars. It doesn't apply for F1. For example, Peugeot would never enter the DTM because they don't make a petrol V8, so for them it would be pointless. Merc and Audi both make petrol production V8's, so they can market that through the DTM.

As this is a touring car thread Ferrari, Porsche, Land Rover, Spyker and Corvette don't have an eligible car.
