Definitely better. It's approaching cogent but it still has an overall foggy feel to it.
The on board quality was better and placement better for most cars. There seemed to be better use of off car footage that was cut into the mix if not an increase of those shots overall. Double the off car footage would actually push this into good territory which is less than I previously thought would be needed for a good show. But still too short at the moment.
The 30 seconds or so of mudcovered camera is mystifying. I think any mud covered camera shot is lame but if you want to show 3-5 seconds of mud cam to really drive home the point that the car went through some mud I could accept that. But to cut to that camera TWICE!!!!!!!!!! for 15 seconds at a whack is not entertaining. I can't believe I am saying this but if you can't use outside footage at this point this is the time to cut to the face of the driver shot. As much as I hate that shot it is better than a big blurry mess!
The information flow and the pace of narrating is getting better. Still has that foggy feel to it but it is at the low end of a linear experience now which is an improvement. But man the halting and jerking and sputtering trying to get through a sentence is crazy!
I have to admit I am less angry about this only because it is becoming pretty funny to me. One of two images pops into my head every time. The first is of Simon as an overtaxed android with smoke pouring off his circuits cartoon style and the other is a man.....wearing a gold shirt.....sitting in.......a captains chair.....on.......the.......bridge of his starship...explaing the.....finer points of rallying........to a gentleman....with pointy ears.

Funny maybe isn't the goal but hey it's better for me to appraoch it this way.
I think there might actually be hope for the coverage now though which I didn't before.
