Duno about loeb the better driver, he only got the 2 championships becuase the citroen was unbeatable.
Finally it seems the others have somewhat caught up and with gronholms pace have just nosed ahead.
Put marcus (or solberg) in that c4 and they'd destroy the field, including loeb!

I don't really know why I like Gronholm either.
I think it's because I want to see someone actually prove that Loeb can be beaten, and since Gronholm went to Ford, he's been strong, and has proved that if anyone's going to beat Seb, he'll probably do it.
It's the same with the teams. I prefer Ford and their drivers because they could actually beat Loeb and Citroen.
Before the 06 season, I prefered Solberg and Subaru -

Marcus Gronholm has won the rally by an incredible 0.3 seconds!
What a epic finish, the closest rally since Rally Japan last year.
Results:
Pos Driver Make Time
1. Gronholm Ford 3h 52:53.9
2. Loeb Citroen + 0.3
3. Hirvonen Ford + 1:42.8
4. Atkinson Subaru + 2:32.3
5. Latvala Ford + 2:36.9
6. Sordo Citroen + 3:42.0
7. P Solberg Subaru + 3:54.7
8. Aava Mitsubishi + 9:16.3
9. H Solberg Ford + 9:54.6
10. Wilson Ford + 10:19.9

I know, it's been an epic rally.
Shame about the dire Eurosport coverage.

Hmm, I think I'll do that next time...
The WRC should go to Sky Sports, or even Motors TV!
At least thry show there motorsport on time.

What a mega result for Gronholm, this could well inspire him to the title this season and he deserves imo. Just shows the class of the top two that third was nearly 2 mins behind.

Don't quite belive that.
Leob's been in an unfamiliar position this year. The Xsara was very much 'Leobs car' just like the 206 was Marcus' and the 03 Impreza was Solbergs.
But give him time and him with the C4 could be just as quick.
But, now, he's got to win every single event from now on, and rely on Sordo doing very well in Spain or Marcus making a mistake...
...Basically, he needs every cattle farmer in Sardinia to be on his side ...

Sordo certainly can't support Loeb, he's a pretty average driver.
I don't think Loeb can do it. It will be close, but I reckon Gronholm will just take it.

Citreon put significantly more into supporting Loeb than the other teams could muster. They were justified i suppose by it being a french driver. I still believe that Solberg is one of hte best out there, second only to Gronholm if at all. Gronholm won the titles in a very good car but also never made mistakes, even though he was pushed hard by McRae and the likes. Loeb was never really pushed in the Xsara.
Solberg, however, won a title by fighting extremely hard every single rally. The Subaru hasnt been the best car in the field for a LONG time, and certainly wasnt when Solberg won his title.
