I agree, not much has happened, but the commentator has improved ! Areas for improvement:

- Still way too much inboard, need more film of the cars from outside. RAI chooses different material than you from North-One, with more outside film, pls do the same.

- More Helicopter coverage

- Need to show splits when we follow a driver

- Show stage results, as well as the total list

- Show more cars than top 5, also other classes than WRC. Even if they have their own show when we have forgotten all about it...

- Get in a ex-driver as a sidekick

- More driver interviews

- Pls think as a journalist, and surprise us from time to time ! Good luck !

it's just sad to see that Motors TV doesn't get better covergae of WRC.

Just compare the 26 minutes from ESPN or Sport1 (germany) to the 52 minutes from Motors TV.

I only get half of the coverage time on the other two channels but I would prefer anyway.

On Motors TV it's just onboard camera all the time. If the camers would be positioned like in the IRC on Eurosport it would be okay but not like it is now.

Maxmimum 1 minute outside pictures from the cars is just not good. In the much shorter shows on the other channels I SEE the new cars. On Motors TV I have no idea what's really going on because the camera shows blurry snow filmed from the inside back of the car.

Like this it's just painful to watch. And I think it's a really bad sign that there is not even one complaint in this Forum. For me this means nobody is watching anymore because it's just too painful.

Well that answers my question if the coverage was any different for 2011. Back to not bothering to watch Motors for 2011 wrc again.

We indeed had issues on that 1st day with several aspects of the shows.
The 1st one is obviously related to the quality of some of the onboards, which is both due to the new cars, and brightness with the snow... Sweden's definitely not the best round for that.
The 2nd issue is the lack of action footage, which is due to a technical problem, and which will be solved from tonight, there will be much more in day 2 show.

I can only apologize for that, and ensure you all that I'm closely monitoring what we're showing, and making sure it will improve.

The text feeds telling what is happening in the rally are perfect and the detail of maintaining the links for each day separately is a great idea!

Ok, is understandable that the inboards are not so good the white of the snow plus the new cars.

The outside footage and more interviews and maybe some technical stuff in the middle were great things to add to the show.

Just finished watching day one which i recorded as i wasnt able to watch and i have to say i was dissapointed.

1. picture quality is terrible
2. far to many on board shots and the one from the back of the car looking out you cant see anything at all! we need more outside action shots!
3. how about some shots of more cars other than the top 3

I really thought the quality of the show would be much better than last year. Throughout 2010 you said many times that things would get better and that you learned.
The Sweden 2011 coverage is much worse than ever before!

Incredibly poor image quality, Blurry text on result list, no real info on screen, terrible and confusing editing, terrible camera placement with wrong white balance.
Even a local rally in Norway has 20x better production on all aspects than your show.

If the reason for this horrible production is the material you get, then you should just stop showing wrc. Put your money into other motorsports where you get a better deal.

I bought a new channel package from my satellite dealer to get Motors TV when Eurosport droppet the wrc. What a waste. I won't even bother watching from now on. I'll go to a friends house and watch a REAL wrc show.

The best thing was you didn't show the crash from Solberg. But there are pictures of it. Onboard and outside. They were shown on the 26min package. I really don't know how you can accept the pictures you get. Any money you pay for it is simply too much.

Understand me correct. I really like Motors TV! But this is just a waste of money.

The WRC coverage is terrible. The picture quality is all down to MotorsTV because I watched the final stage live on Sport1 (german FTA channel) and the picture quality there was normal. Snow was white, text was sharp, there were split times.

Don't you have quality control? This program how it's aired is beyond amateur levels.
Onboards are great when you can see something, but even then onboards for the whole show are not good. Fire the editor of this program.

And the picture quality is not only bad for WRC but also on many other programs and even live broadcasts. Update your equipment, because the source material usually is much better. We the viewers know that because we can see that on other TV channels or on the internet. Don't tell the lies that you can't do any better because that's how you get the pictures delivered to you. If that's the case, you better download those races/programs from certain websites and broadcast that, because the quality of those downloads is usually much better than what MotorsTV has to offer. The Bitrate is only about 3 Mbit/s. Like this the picture can't be better. New equipment wouldn't help.

Color and brightness can be better. Bitrate has impact on the blockiness of the picture. Last year Open Access 3 showed Nascar races live, that channel has a very low bitrate. But colors and brightness were good, it only had massive block forming. But later in the season they fixed that by tweaking their equipment. Bitrate was still low (lower than MotorsTV) but the picture was more watchable than MotorsTV's WRC program.

The preview show of the Sweden round on Thursday was also better quality, I believe that show wasn't edited by MotorsTV but just the standard world feed program. Most races I download only have a bitrate of 2 Mbit/s average, but look excellent.

You are right about the 3rd day. There the color was really messed up. The preview show is the same for all channels this is right.

I still don't know who is editing the shows for Motors TV. Is it really Motors itself?

Finally the Mexico coverage is much much much better!! Less onboard footage and even the onboard footage is much better. No cameras in the back of the car anymore. Like this it's fun to watch.

[driver]

EDIT. What would be really good is to have the time running on screen with the split times in comparation with the lead drivers.

EDIT2. The only bad thing is still the really low bitrate (3 Mbit/s) of the picture which makes the picture less sharp. But this is a general Motors TV problem not only on WRC.

agree with alot of points made and would like to add about more outside shots of the cars that zooming in so can only see half of the car isnt any good and would prefer to see the whole car go round the corner rather then just half of it.
