This is what the primary international highlights package (Shown on ESPN in the UK & other broadcasters elsewhere) was like last season -

Day 2 highlights even worse than day 1, Carlton Kirby doing Eurosport's commentary, hardly any In-Car footage, Jumping from stage to stage too quickly, 10Mins to re-cap day 1 & then hardly any footage at all from stages 5+6.

Also they kinda got Ogier's crash from a Fan-Cam, In the past we'd have got an In-Car shot as all ISC's units recorded to a recorder inside the car, All the Eurosport units are live beamed upto the helecopter so if the helecopter isnt around the car or that car's camera is not active we don't get to see the footage from it.

So can someone clarify. What is airing on Motors now? The same thing as Eurosport or is it something different?

I was hoping it was something different because Eurosport's coverage was pretty bad and I never liked what they did for IRC stuff either.

This sucks. The powerstage stuff and France last year were great and I thought beckoned well for the future but instead it has all turned to crap.

Can't believe how bad the coverage is its just awful, its so embarrasing maybe they might have been better off just putting out a highlights package after the rally had finished. It's so amateur no incar footage, about 10mins of highlights from previous days with only maybe 20mins highlights of current days footage if even that and the commentary is just dreadful on motors is'nt that the man who used interview the drivers at stage finish in previous years???. You'd have to wonder is this the beginning of the end for the wrc it has been dwindling for years and when you hear mini could not afford to put kris meeke in the 2nd car and had to take a paying driver it's no more about the best drivers but outside of 3 or 4 drivers the one's with the most money.I hope im wrong but sad days for the wrc did not think things would get this bad.

I don't understand why there spending so much time recapping the previous days.

Doing a brief Re-cap looking over some of the more crucial points from previous days (1 or 2 Minuites as has always been done) is fine, But spending 13 minuites (Of a 27 Minuite show) looking back at what we have already seen is just silly. Eurosport also do that with there IRC coverage so I sadly don't see that changing.

Also while Simulcam is a nice feature I don't see why they need to include all the Simulcam features from previous days in that Re-Cap? Coudn't the time perhaps be used to show more Simulcam stuff from today? Or maybe used to show a bit more IN-car footage or something.

Yeah, Julian Porter. He did previously ask the questions at the end of the stages (Still does but Eurosport cut him out & just play the answers).

Paul King who did the commentary (On the international feed at least) the past 6 or so years used to work on putting the highlights package togather & writing the script, Used to do a practice run before recording, Looks like there just giving Julian the script & telling him to record it live.

Something Im at a loss with is why Eurosport are providing the highlights coverage & paying Julian Porter to provide the main voice over yet then on there own network opting to instead use Carlton Kirby who seems to be using a different script & doing the voice over live?

Julian isn't do the best job Although he's still better than Carlton Kirby, His commentary on Eurosprt is just dreadfull & sadly he's said he's doing the full season [eek]

Havr to agree. The long long recap is really painful and not necessary. I hope Eurosport will change this in case they really do all the other shows in the season. In a show of 1 hout it would be somehow okay but in 26 minutes it's just stupid.

Day 1: Very good
Day 2: good
Day 3: not good
Day 4: not good

How do you plan to build up the 1 hour shows?
How much will be from the day before?
Will we see any coverage of other WRC cars that top 4?
Will we see anything from S-, PWRC, academy and others that stand out for som reason?
