It should be great racing tomorrow. Amazingly, James Thompson is on pole, in his old Alfa 156 by 0.1 secs - incredibly close session. Valencia always serves up close racing, so it should be good.

Qaulifying times:

1. James Thompson Alfa Romeo 1:43.954
2. Yvan Muller SEAT 1:43.955 + 0.00
3. Andy Priaulx BMW 1:44.114 + 0.16
4. Jordi Gene SEAT 1:44.228 + 0.27
5. M.Jourdain Jr. SEAT 1:44.234 + 0.28
6. Nicola Larini Chevrolet 1:44.261 + 0.31
7. Augusto Farfus BMW 1:44.265 + 0.31
8. Alain Menu Chevrolet 1:44.280 + 0.33
9. Robert Huff Chevrolet 1:44.319 + 0.37
10. Roberto Colciago SEAT 1:44.352 + 0.40
11. G.Tarquini SEAT 1:44.430 + 0.48
12. Tiago Monteiro SEAT 1:44.460 + 0.51
13. Felix Porteiro BMW 1:44.503 + 0.55
14. Jorg Muller BMW 1:44.576 + 0.62
15. Luca Rangoni BMW 1:44.581 + 0.63
16. Sergio Hernandez BMW 1:44.595 + 0.64
17. Tom Coronel SEAT 1:44.627 + 0.67
18. A.Zanardi BMW 1:44.705 + 0.75
19. P-Y.Corthals SEAT 1:44.925 + 0.97
20. O.Tielemans Alfa Romeo 1:45.076 + 1.12
21. Stefano D'Aste BMW 1:45.167 + 1.21
22. M.Ceresoli SEAT 1:45.629 + 1.68
23. Maria de Villota Chevrolet 1:46.808 + 2.85
24. Miguel Freitas Alfa Romeo 1:47.501 + 3.55
25. V.Shapovalov BMW 1:48.413 + 4.46
26. M.Pedala SEAT No time

Good to see Thommo on pole, hopefully he will be able to get a race win as well. Hopefully Priaulx will be able to get his championship challenge back on track as well.

Yeah, great from Thommo. I reckon Priaulx might be able to win, he's great at overtaking. Also, the circuit is hard wearing on tyres, so Prialux's rear drive BMW might have an advantage in the latter part of the race.

Where are Jörg Müller and Alex Zanardi??? >:((
What the hell is going on? 14. and 18. position, there is definitely something wrong!
And nothing against Thompson, but an old Alfa on pole?
What about the Chevys?
Weird qualifying!!!

Earp, those Chevy's are immensely fast now. They've improved the car massively.

Jorg Muller isn't very good at qaulifying, but he's awesome in the races. He'll pull something out something tomorrow, trust me...

Thompson has a light car with no success ballest. But also the old Alfa is still a very decent car, but I agree it's surprising. Alex Zanardi always is always slow, so no suprise there then.

Was surprised to see Thommo on pole, the Alfa hasnt been good so far this season. If he can get away at the begining then i think he can win as well, dont think Valencia is easy to overtake even in touring cars!!!
Lets hope Andy Priaulx can have a good 2 races as well the BMW Germany cars have been faster in the races so far.

Yep, he won both races - that's incredible! [eek]
That Alfa's straight line speed was colossal, great drives from Thompson.
Good job from Andy Priaulx and Jorg Muller, they are joint leaders in the drivers championship.

The second race was just sensational, WOW!!!!! I haven't seen a race like that in ages, I thoroughly enjoyed that - it was a proper motor race. I'm happy! :D

You really should Matt, that was one awesome race. You can watch the re-run at 10 PM tonight on Eurosport 1 - highly recommended.

Great news that Thommo has done the double, I'll have to try and catch the re-run later now :D Good to hear that Priaulx is back at the top of the table and hopefully he will remain there until the end of the season.
