The tv coverage for DTM is getting worse each race.
There is no live qualifying this year. We join races that are just starting! The grid even appears late. The pit timing is hit and miss. What the hell is going on????
This isnt some crap little euro series, this is premium motorsport. If F1 was this exciting perhaps i would pay the ridiculous cost to go see it at the dreadful silverstone!
Also if Carlton "Mr Perfect" Kirby makes one more personal remark about Norbert Haug , when I am at Brands I will hunt him down and show him a different use for a mars bar !

Totally agree, its been shocking so far. Im not overly concerned about the lack of qualifying coverage(altho it would be nice), but I expect a quality broadcast for the race (including the damn start if you dont mind). I appreciate technical problems can happen from time for time but this year has been cack!

considering the poor quality broadcasting, I think the lads are doing a great job commentating on the DTM races, surely a little humour isn't that bad? i for one prefer listening to Carlton and Mark, Ben and John (a1 gp ) and Ben on the BTCC, than the wooden personality of James Allen on F1 itv, roll on Brands!!

The quality of broadcasting is awful, the DTM is a premier series, so the TV guys really need to do something. It's not Motors tv fault or the commentators, it's the TV guys who give out the pictures to the rest of Europe at the DTM base.

I consider the DTM to be like F1, so the DTM needs much better TV. In Formula One they never get any kind of these glitches.

Probably cause bernie knows better than to let BT anywhere near the feed for F1 into the UK..

Personally i think carlton and mark have been doing a fantastic job , as usual , and especially on saturday which was something tbey couldnt do anything about and they seemed to do well when we got it back and continually apologised for the faults . something they didnt have to do.

I like the jokey atmosphere they create on the dtm coverage , it somehow seems like your watching it down the pub with ya mates and so what if they make the odd error..I dont mind and it is amusing to hear them take the piss out of themselves for doing so.

So keep up the good work CK .and MC.

That's exactly what I mean, Motors TV can't help it, it's the DTM (whoever's) fault. I put the blame on the TV guys at the DTM base.

it is rather rubbish i must say. not just the race at lauzitz was a farce but so was the coverage. even the 'dtm replay' doesnt have the start of the race. thats silly. the pics out of sync with the comentating as usual. hockenheim and ocsherschlebawhatever also ahd major fuzzyness and static at the race buildup and im sure lauzitz would have been the same had we actually saw a race build up.

these may not be motors' fault but there is a few things motors tv could improve on however. all mostly the commentating. for a start, the paffett and di resta love-in. keep it in context. they wouldnt be doing so well if it wasnt for them driving some of the best cars the best cars in the feild. good drivers, nothing more nothing less, dont be having james allen style orgasms over them. norbert has lost loads of weight from back in the day, so lay off him and also.....get it right. for example, i was screaming at my tv at hockenheim as what was CLEARLY adam carroll tending to injured premat and the commentators telling us it was premat himself! at least do a bit of reasearch guys! premat is a tall balding french bloke. carroll is a short blond irish bloke! and also, please dont get vanina's car mixed up with adam's. the cars are not very similar at all. and the people who drive them couldnt be more opposite to each other if you tried! also, i still se no reason what so ever for qualifying not to be shown.

I agree with the DTM qaulifying. They replaced it with the F3 Euro Series, but they don't clash, so why not show both? :S

They should lay off Norbert, he's done nothing wrong - discriminating him because of his appearence (weight) is just wrong. However, to be fair to Carlton and Mark, they haven't made fun of Nobert so far this season.

Because the DTM is a premier series, I'd like to see more race build-up. 15 mins before the race isn't good enough for a premier series.

Paul Di Resta is pure talent. He's in a two year old car, and got 2nd place at Lauitz with ballest, now that's impressive. Just where were all the other 2005 cars :S:

Getting worse by far! If you persist with Carlton get rid of Cole and get someone who can read the race and let Kirby do the humour

Yep defo agree. Mark Cole is a legend and him and CK, I feel, work really well together on the DTM. The only small gripe that I have on occasions is that perhaps they don't always do their homework, but who am I to complain.

iot's not the first time that someone has suggest a change in commentators, they do grow on you, ck and mc :D

the coverage however has more to do with the way it's broadcast than anything motors are doing. They have always had a fairly small broadcast capacity (audio and picture quality) and since dtm has gone widescreen I don't think it can cope. Remember this is a channel that still uses video tapes and not digital media.

As for the loss of quali, it's not a worry to me, f3 euro series is preferable and although they don't clash i suspect that they can't afford to broadcast it and thats why it's gone. :S:
