Good morning race fans from a wet and cold Le Mans, where the warm-up - and never was a word more appropriate! - is about to get under way.

David Leslie and Mark Cole are shivering in the Motors TV UK commentary booth ready to kick off at 08.00 UK time, so grab your coffee and orange and sit back for the best racing in the world - sportscars at the Le Mans 24 Hours.

MARK COLE

Morning Mark! Hope you all had a good nights sleep, especially Mr Haven. Does he still plan to call the full 24 hours? ;)

A question:

Can any of today's endurance series such as ALMS or LMS trace their roots back to the old World Sportscar Championship? Or are they completely different?

blimey it sure is soaking there...are the cars going to struggles to retain brake temperatures etc or is the ambient temperature still quite high?

Throat sweets at the ready Martin, having hear you do the bobsleigh coverage on Eurosport during the winter, hopefully it will hold up for the full 24hrs for all our sakes [lol]
Cheers
David
