Finally some news has come out of the wood work about the Aston Martin DBR9 that Vitaphone Racing as meant to be racing at this years Le Mans 24H.

[br]

They will be using chassis 04 which belongs to EDM Motorsport who run Strakka Racing, who raced at Spa last weekend.  The drivers will be Peter Hardman & Nick Leventis, no third driver is confirmed yet, but it is rumored to be Alexandros Margaritis.

[br]

I would have thought Michael Bartel would have wanted to race at Le Mans seen as they are racing under the Vitaphone Banner.

yeah the reason vitaphone are fielding a DBR9 is because teh MC12 didn't comply to Le Mans regulations. But it's been known for ages that vitaphone are racing a DBR9.

yes i think we all knew that ages ago,but Airbus is telling us where the car came from and who will drive it

i'm suprised by the driver lineup,Hardman and Leventis woul'nt be my chioce but  with respect i suppose the more proffesional drivers have been snapped up.

its great to have 4 Astons in GT1 to give those Corvette's a good battle.

Midge is right, I was telling people where the car is coming from and who the drivers are, because there has being next to none information about the entry.

[br]

I kind of agree with you on the driver line up, seen as Spa was Hardman & Leventis's first Le Mans style endurance race (Le Mans Series).

[br]

As stated above I would have thought they would have picked Michael Bartels & Andrea Bertolini seen as they both has experience in endurance racing (FIA GT Spa 24H) etc.

I would doubt very, very strongly that Vitaphone Racing are invloved with the entry at all any more. I would suspect that the entry has simply been sold to Strakka racing who will run tthe car themselves. So it's not really a case of chosing Laventis and Hardman over Bartels and Bertolini.

Personally I'm very dissapointed because what would have been a potentially very strong line up and car has now been replaced with a team of wealthy, not to mention pretty slow, amatuers.

Well Team Modena should do well really from all the money they have spent overhauling the car.  As far as I am aware it went to Prodrive and got a new updated engine (same as the one AMR use I think, and I think JetAlliance use the same or just previous version too) and some new aero parts I think, and the new mirrors.

The Modena car hasn't been to Prodrive.

I am sure that Mark & Carlton have said during the Monza race that it has.
