Sounds like the V8's could be supporting the F1 Singapore race in 2009. But it will be run in the daytime.
Great news: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/64245

Not next year, but maybe 2009. For 2008 it would be between 500km Phllip Island and 1000km Bathurst and there you can't do an orher raceweekend.

Next year's schedule for the Supercars is already set, with only one track to be decided for running during July.

Yes sorry, my typing error.
This is grear for the V8's, the series is moving further and further a field, the Desert 400 looks secure.
I'm looking foward to that new street circuit in New Zealand next year as well...

Yes this street circuit could be nice.
I think the V8's have their basic in australia. They don't have to go all over the world. One or two races outside australia and new zeland is enough.

Oh absolutely, V8's base is in Australia and it should remain that way. But its often good to expand into new markets, Bahrain and Singapore are good countries to visit.

Singapore maybe but Bahrain isn't good. The series is very famous in australia. They don't have to go to other markets their market is australia and maybe south asia like singapore or malyasia. But Bahrain or China don't want to see it and V8 don't need theese events.

The crowd size looked okay at Bahrain, but nothing special.
V8's were due to China for five years, starting in 2005. But the contract was terminated.
V8's could try a round in Europe, just to see what the crowd size would be. ![LOL [lol]](http://www.motorstv.com/en/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

Not all series have to be all over the world. The V8 have to be in Australia like the DTM have to be in europe.

Yup, not all have to be international. But Tony Cochrane seems keen on taking the series overseas, I suppose he just wants to broaden the appeal of the series.
Let's see what happens..

Queensland Raceway has been confirmed for that spot in July.

Thanks DCR, my mate who is a marshal at Ipswich just sent me an email as well. The whole series is about selling cars, so there would be no point in coming to Europe with chunky V8 Holden or Ford, as our prat of a government make it impossible to run such things without some illegal payments coming in to be able to afford them.

Actually, we have had a Holden Monaro (badged as a Vauxhall) since 2004 in the UK.
And now we have the VXR8, known as the Commodore.

It would be great to see Ford launching a Falcon over here, with 400 bhp +.
However, when it comes to performance cars Ford UK are very conservative these days, the Focus ST is good but we have no new Cosworth models or anything and no sports cars.
Vauxhall has had a sports car, various different hot hatches and even performance MPV's! And they even gave the Monaro and VXR8 a go, Vaxuhall are more adventurous than Ford.
Ford are a great car maker, don't get me wrong, but Ford UK need to try new stuff out, like the Falcon.
