He was acting as a snow plough for the following cars. Latvala's early pace was put down to the fact he was running 11th on roads cleared by the preceding cars.
That's not to say he didn't drive a good rally overall.

The idiotic Sordo wouldn't have collected those 3 points for Citroen.
He was just cruising all weekend taking advantage of the cuasualties (H. Solberg, Wilson, Atkinson).
Cruising like Alonso to the title in 2005. Aren't they compatriots? I could start generalizing if I wanted to, but I won't. ops:
