Tyre rule tweak possible for 2008

Singapore is tropical... so it doesn't work like that... summer and winter don't exist as concepts at all, with the only seasons being rain or dry...

The sun rises about 7am all year around and sets about 7pm all year around... and it goes straight down, so it's all over fast... so by 7.25pm it'll be pitch black, whatever time of the year.

28th September 2008 sunrise is at 6.53am local time, and sunset at 6.59pm.

9pm will be very DARK - no dusk to speak of in the tropics!

ps. today sunset is at 7.17pm and civil twilight ends 7.39pm, so that's about 22 minutes of twilight after sunset...


Very interesting Seanmiller, so it looks like it will be pitch black. :D

Oh goodie goodie...

New Moon is at 8pm UT on 29th September, so the race will be effectively on the darkest night of the month at the darkest time of day... the DARKEST DARKEST night at the DARKEST DARKEST time... it will be so so dark... that the world's concept of darkness will have to be re-written... apart from the floodlights nobody would see anything...

...so imagine... half way through the second pitstop, and Singapore suffers a powercut (cue Stephen King music)....

...in the pit lane everything suddenly goes quiet and you can hear a Finn drop...

...so much for Kimi then ;)

...and then the lights come back on... and normality returns...

Singapore is only 1 degree north of the equator so I would thind the temps will not drop too far during the early evening, but as Sean said, around 7pm someone will turn the lights out.
