I'm sure he did race at lemans, part of footage shot during the race was used in his film "Le Mans".

No, McQueen never raced at Le Mans because his insurers banned him from doing it... however, he did race at Sebring in preparation fort the Le Mans race and movie, where he finished second! _________________
