Long shot this, but wondering if anyone can shed light on it.

I saw a driver (think it was in a Porsche GT3 ) who had BOX ... as a sponsor on the back of their race suit.
Any Ideas?, as a mate has a company, Box Technologies, that sponsor races at Whilton Mill and a kart team, and its bugging him as to who the driver was...

not a clue I'm afraid, as I think it was being retired. I didn't watch the race, and only saw the drivers back for a few seconds.
My mate is being driven mad by people phoning, who saw it too

I've been racking my brains because I saw it too. It was a Porsche and the driver was shown during a pit stop with "Box" on the back of his suit and some smaller writing underneath that, so you are not going mad.
Try watching the highlights in case it you see it again, they might not have cut that bit.

The #61 Saleen is run by a team called Racing Box, it was probably one of their drivers.

if his company is a uk company i would think it would be a uk team so would it be one of the James Watt Automotive drivers?

The mystery was, who/why was a company called Box at Silverstone.
Coincidentally my mates company is called Box and has a very similar logo:- we all thought he was being sneaky and getting into sports cars without telling us.
Truth is that these Italian chaps were the folk in question, and its sheer coincidence.
Mystery solved.
