Whilst I applaud MotorsTV for covering such a fantastic event, I must say that I find that actual race coverage leaves a lot to be desired.
I can unserstand (perhaps) keeping the cameras on the leaders during one of the F1 "procession" races, but with something like the "Innes Ireland Trophy" race, the cars are the stars, NOT the race positions.
Your coverage of that race didn't even show the fourth place car !! And there were other equally beautiful machines that were only seen in fleeting glimpses. Such a shame - such a waste !
So - thanks for covering the event, but please change your director for someone who knows about cars !!

Yes, I've only (so far) caught the coverage of the BRDC 500. It would have been nice to have used a couple of commentators who actually knew something about a) the cars, and b) the drivers!
Saying that, 'well done' to Motors for even televising the event --- the sort of thing we don't see enough of !

Commentators who fully informed of what we are all looking at are absolutely vital in covering this event.

Who would have thought that 35 years on from watching a young boy scampering around the commentators hut at Prescot and Shelsley Walsh that they would be commentating together from Silverstone.
Really enjoyed yesterday and looking forward to today.
How nice to listen to people who know what they are talking about!!!!
Keep up the good work Toby - thoroughly enjoy your Moto GP too!!!

Hear hear Dave, totally endorse what you said. A big attaboy to Toby Moody. (What are you doing in 2009?)
Sideways racing, I was brought up on these cars!! Wonderful spectacle and a credit to Motors.

and where was Martin Haven when we needed him? Am also wondering why people like Ian Titchmarsh, Brian Jones and Doug Nye weren't invloved in this. Would, perhaps, have added a little gravitas to the proceedings?

Well, Martin was commentating on WTCC at Brands and Ian at BTCC Oulton. There was a lot of big events on this weekend, and hence the 'leading commentators' were thinly spread.

I only saw bits of the GTP race (sadly, they are the best cars of the weekend in my opinion), does anyone know if the Kenwood car was racing (i cant remember off the top of my head which manufacturer it was, my heart says Mazda though!)?

I'd just like to stress that I wasn't criticising the commentators, whom I thought very good - just the camera direction which - for me - left a lot to be desired.
