SEBRING LIVE ON MOTORS TV

Hi everybody. This is to let you know I will be anchoring the live Motors TV UK coverage of the 2008 Sebring 12 Hours, which for the first time this year will have the full 12 hours covered by Speed's commentators on-site.

In Britain, Motors goes on air at 13.30 Saturday, and will continue through to 02.00 Sunday.

It's the longest race of the year for me. At the Le Mans 24 Hours at least we rotate commentators. But for Sebring, it's a one-man show, filling in for my American colleagues when they go to ad-breaks or leave for full-course cautions. There's little respite even once the chequered is thrown at Sebring, as no red-blooded fan is going to miss the Australian GP, which starts a couple of hours later. We die for our sport...

Sebring is one of five - possibly six - ALMS races which Motors TV will bring to European screens live this year, on its English, French and German services. Confirmed are Salt Lake City (May 1, Mosport (Aug 24), Detroit (Aug 30) and Petit Le Mans (October 04); Lime Rock on July 12 has yet to be confirmed as live, but all six are being broadcast by Speed. The rest of the schedule is being broadcast tape-delayed by either ABC or NBC Sports, which Motors wil also show delayed.

I'll be here all weekend, so start those posts coming, and I'll do my best to give your best a mention when we're on air. It's good to be back among friends...

Thankfully Ben Devlin is okay after his crash and the team do have a spare tub so can rebuild the car.

A bit of controversy in that all of the qualifying was cancelled which included the GT who weren't involved in the problems. The grid has now been decided by aggregate times from the various practice sessions.

Speed will cut away for NASCAR so you will miss at leaste an hour on speed.

I am with you. I want to watch it but staying up till 6:20am Which will kill me the following day!!!
