How come many of the teams chose to use their 2 full time drivers in the same car rather than them each having a 2nd driver in their own cars?

What a great race though, Lownes is the man. great come back.

I don't know Darren, but like you I expected teams to put their drivers in 2 cars and spread the risk. I was gutted the Skaife and Tander had that breakage, though it bodes well for Batthurst, if they can set the car up well for the great race

Looking forward to Bathurst, hopefully lownes wont get a wheel through his window this year.

They used to have the full time drivers teamed up with an sometimes unkown driver but I think they decided that there was a better chance of winning if you have both fulltime drivers in the same car. For example if Skaife and Tander had of finished first in the weekend then Tander would have benn back on top of the championship and Skaife would have been back in the chase. Unfortunatly it does not always pay off.
