From Autosport.com:-
Ralf Schumacher has ended weeks of speculation about his future by confirming that he will race a Trilux AMG Mercedes C-Class in the DTM this year.
Schumacher tested a Mercedes-Benz DTM at Estoril in Portugal earlier this year and was immediately attracted to the series, with his options in Formula One having run out.
Although it was widely expected he would complete a deal with Mercedes-Benz, the news was not confirmed until today. It means his first race will be at Hockenheim on April 13.
Schumacher insisted throughout the end of last year that he would remain in F1 in 2008, even though no teams had any interest in signing him.
However, as soon as he tested a DTM car he expressed his desire in becoming a touring car driver.
"I wouldn't be here driving the car if I wasn't enjoying it and if I wasn't seriously considering racing in the DTM," he said after his recent Estoril test. "I'm using every minute of testing to get to know the car better.
"Should a co-operation come about, I would race one of the 2007-spec cars. After all, I'm new to DTM and would have to get to know everything and get accustomed to racing the car - you don't need a new one to do that. In the learning year, winning races just wouldn't be the goal yet."

Well he hasn't done much yet, Hockenheim will be great entertainment though. Hopefully the next Abt can bully him. ![LOL [lol]](http://www.motorstv.com/en/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

To be Abt you must very very agressive, I don't think Ralf is - I have a feeling he will be too soft and nice.

I've read something at Motorsport-Total.com and I think it's true.
You must have respect for Ralf's and Mercedes decision. Both know when Ralf doesn't be good, he will be the looser for alle people in the world and if he wins everybody will say "It's normal, he is a F1 driver".
So it will be hard for Ralf but you must have respect for this decision and I really hope for him he can drive a good season becuase he isn't as bad as some people call him here in the forum.

I'll give him a fair chance, if he's good I'll praise the guy, if he's not I won't be very surprised - that style of thinking works for me!

Nice one, this will be good for DTM since Heinz Harrold and Alesi's departure this makes sense for their media machine

Just been reading this article at dtm.com.
I only have one question, how big is the car going to be?

They would have been chuffed if they managed to sign Schumi, but Ralf is sort of well known - that's enough for them.

I am sorry, but Ralf is not the next best thing. I think he proved that point in F1. The only reason ralf is in DTM, is for commercial reasons.
