Rain at the Nurburgring today - nothing unusual there, but that could shuffle the DTM pack if it comes down heavily during the race.
Carlton and I will be bringing you all the action as it happens, with Canadian Bruno Spengler starting from his first pole. But no favourite for the win here this afternoon - Mercedes and Audi have shared three each since 2000, so the field is wide open, particularly with Tom Kristensen alongside Bruno on the front row.
Don't discount wet weather experts Bernd Schneider and Matthias Ekstrom, starting on Rows 2 and 3 respectively: both former champions, and the two most experienced men here. 43 laps of the short circuit - don't miss a moment of it.
Let us know your throughts on the forum - we'll try to mention you during the show.
Mark

With Jamie Green qualifying on the second row I have to ask if this is the time he breaks his duck? I mean when he does start on the front row something always seems to happen to spoil his possible (and sometimes probbable) first victory in DTM. On the other hand Tom Kristiensen seems to be able to make the car go arround the ring at a constantly fast pace. Alesi didn't even make it past the first round of qualilying and will be starting from the back of the grid and should provide more on track overtaking than most F1 meetings.
So who is going to win?
My hope says Green, my heart says Alesi, my head says Kristiensen.
If it is one thing that supprting Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill and Jenson Button has taught me it is to go with my hope.
Come on Jamie

Hi Carlton and Mark,
After last times disappointment for Jamie, lets hope a starting slot a little further back will do him the world of good - and chances of lapping someone here are slimmer that at the noris...
Cheers - Alun - Chesterfield.

If it rains that's certainly going to spice things up! Maybe its a good omen for Jamie Green as Button won his first Grand Prix in the wet, so lets hope Jamie can break his duck today!
Also the wet is normally a bit of a leveller, so hopefully it may allow Susie to shine in 2004 machinery and score a decent result!

You have to wonder if a mid-race down pour might just motivate Jean Alesi? He looked totally out of sorts yesterday, and has a lot of work to do, but if the race turns into a lottery, you can't rule him out of doing something spectacular.
If it rains from the start, you've got to favour Ekstrom and Schneider - I see Kristiensen as the most likely one of front runners to play for points under those conditions.
Have to agree that taking the pressure of pole position off Jamie's shoulders might just be a good thing.
As for Spengler - we'll see, but its good to see some more young blood keeping the old stagers on their toes.

Back for the first time since before Brands (I was there, but didn't see Mark or Carlton).
To me it's looking like a Tom Kristiensen victory, but I would dearly love to see Jamie break his duck, and for Susie to be top of the 2004 class.

I'm hoping for a good result for Susie, but it's looking like a difficult task with her starting 18th. Hopefully Jamie can finally have a good race too.

I think we've probably seen the last of him, it looks like Kiesa will be in for the rest of the season. It's a shame as he didn't do anything wrong, its all down to comercial issues.

Was the last wet DTM race at Spa last year? This is going to be brill, powerful rear wheel drive cars with zero grip, should be entertaining.
And the usual Go Jamie!

Mark, Carlton good afternoon !
Looking forward to a good race in the wet.
Should open up the race a bit to the less powerful cars as it becomes harder to harness all that power and get in down on the track.
So will the '04 cars have a better chance?
Can HHF get it together this race, will the rain help him?

I wonder what fun ABT will get up to today ?
He is a bit of a liability on a dry track let alone this green wet slippy track !
