It would be good if they went back to 'proper' rallying, none of these little sprint stages, that all the rally's are now made up of. What happened to night stages, or early mornings and late nights?

The only thing comparable now are the raids imo.

Yeah I agree, these sprint stages are far too short.

I think the WRC should have night stages too, it adds to the challenge of rallying.

I think we need both, tarmac and gravel rallies.

But yes I agree, gravel rallies are far more interesting.

It also means Mr Loeb can't dominate! >:D

The rally should also start on the Thursday, and finish on the Sunday, with stages at anytime during that period. I know the organisers would have trouble finding marshals etc, but I'm sure it could be overcome.

The problem is for rallying, it's quite hard to make it accessible for TV viewing.

I think that's the main reason why the stages are so short these days, to make it digestible for the general TV viewing public.

I don't approve, but its the way things are unfortunately.

I had this idea today:

Rent out multimedia TVs at stages, that can view your fave drivers cockpit shots as they happen... Then, enable split screen viewing (4 at a time) and timeing stats all at the push of a button.

Call it WRC Live.

Oh, and a WRChair, which has a built in stepladder and FM arial.

That sounds great Li'ldude, it would make rallying more fan friendly.

A couple of blokes turned up with stepladders, one of them kept calling the WRC Cameraman an 'Aschloch'.

Seemed a nice bloke...

I agree, that would just be stupid and far, far too dangerous.

It was one of the things that separated the RAC rally from the rest.
