The Stewards sitting at Melbourne have rejected the Triple 8 appeal. The team have accepted this and will now move on to prepare for Team Vodafone. Amyone wishing to see the official 888 PR can see it at the end of the link I posted earlier in this thread.
My sympathies lie with Lowndes, it did not appear he pinched Kelly, and got a tap for his pains, the result of which was out of all proportion to what happened. What with all the blocking also going on from the Holden cars, perhaps they should further refine the rules as to what is acceptable or not.
Bet FordFan on holiday in Manchester from Oz has indigestion today!! [lol]

I think, stewards were already quite hard on Holdens, showing bad sportsmanship flags to Skaife and Tander and then giving drive thru for car #16 in 2nd heat, having no decent proof that Holdens were really playing some tactics games.
So after they gave drive thru penalty to Kelly for collision with Craig (and that was right, unlike the Garth's drive thru), I think, it was not realistic, that they will apply more severe penalty after the race, otherwise stewards impartiality could have been under big big question ::)

Well I suppose everyone will have a different take on things but personally I feel Craig never stood a chance.

I know the ford and holden bosses were told that there shouldn't be no helping of other teams and drivers but I think holden drivers of both toll and hrt stitched Lowndes up big time.

Skaife held back Lowndes for the entire length of race 1 and Tander did the same for the most of race 2, I find it somewhat amazing that Tander managed to find over a second a lap after recieving the bad sportsman flag and I think it's beyond belief they waited until lap 28/9 to give him a drive through at which point Lowndes made a few seconds on Kelly.

And then finally to top it all the nudge in race 3, well, what can I say, I am absolutely gutted, this should've been Lowndes championship. :(

A little extreme but I thought it was funny not that I share this view entirely but I do feel robbed of a great race by HSV's dirty tactics.

I seem to be in the minority thinking it wasn't really Rick's fault. I viewed it more as a racing incident, albeit one that had massive championship implications. To be fair, Craig is often guilty of those cynical little "love taps" but usually goes unpunished...

watching the race, i think he deserved the drive through penalty and that was it. lowdnes (spelling? sorry) didn't help himself much by driving into the from of another car after the spin (trying to get away mid pack) thats how i saw it anyway.
