So no BTCC this year on Motors tv right? I live in Italy, and i have the Canal Satellite card to receive Motors TV, no ITV i'm afraid...i guess i couldn't find any BTCC races this year...
Can anyone confirm this one, or give me some advice to see the races other than here?

Setanta sports has the live TV rights this year - £15 a month subscription if you want it!

I have heard motors tv may show a highlights show later in the week.

if you've read that here it just a request / wishful thinking. However if it's true it's great news.

Yep couldn't agree more if a highlight show is going to be shown that will be great news. After looking at the preview in this week's Autosport it looks like it is going to be one of the best seasons yet.

i did hear a rumour that the itv4 package or the men and motors package was going to be as live race re-runs, i which case that will do the same job for anyone with those channels. I have no idea if it's ture or not but i'm hoping someone shows as live somewhere (other than setanta)

OK, here's what's happening:

Setanta:
Whole raceday live - Setanta Sports 2 from 9.55am - 6pm
BTCC highlights show - Setanta Sports 1 at 11pm

ITV:
Race 1 and 2 highlights + race 3 live - ITV3 from 4pm - 5.30pm
Highlights - ITV1 from 12.45am - 1.20am
Highlights repeat - Men and Motors Friday 7.30pm


There will be coverage in several other countries, including Italy, about a week later.

So ToCA have decided that of the overall viewing figures only 8% watched the Motors TV coverage, I'd seriously dispute those figures as everyone I know that watches the BTCC does so on Motors TV. I'd also like to see what percentage of viewing public watch the Setanta coverage, I'm guessing that if the Motors TV coverage was genuinely 8% I'd edge a bet at 0.1% - 0.25%. I don't know a single person that watches Setanta...

The only people that would have Setanta (in general) would be Irish or Scottish, for the Irish sport and the SPL. Even then, you're only looking at Old Firm fans (Celtic & Rangers) as anyone else will refuse to subsidise their channels. I'm a Scot myself and I don't know anyone that has it. So a very small percentage indeed.

The TV coverage this year is depressing, as it seems to be the start of the best season in years. I know a few people who missed it altogether because they were expecting it to be on ITV1. Along with that absolute muppet they have introducing it. Did he really say lunatic driving "should be encouraged"?

yes he did say that and yes itv's coverage is awful. The races are being shown again on men and motors but i'm not sure when.

It is a shame itv have coverage rights because the first 2 races looked good but were so badly cut togeather, they shoundn't let the work experience guy do it.
