As you could see, the Motors TV website has been redesigned.

New forum plateform is still in progress and functionalities will be

added within the next days.

This new forum will be able to crosslink messages with other Motors TV

content & profiles for competitions.

We are sorry for the inconveniance during these few days, but working

hard to add the functionalities as soon as possible. Do not hesitate to

tell us what you would like and what do you think of the new website!

Well you could do ALL of that on the old forum.

I would just like to say that while Drupal is an excellent content management system, I have to question the apparent decision to use it as forum software.  I suggest you Read this.
---
There is still a complete lack of useability of the WYSIWYG editor at the bottom of the page, it keeps on trying to open pop-up windows and then just does not work.  I have to enter everything that requires a pop-up window manually in a text editor before copying and pasting using the keyboard (as the right click on the mouse needs a pop-up or for me to lower the security settings on my browser!!! WHY?) the whole thing into it, what is this, the early 90's? If the WYSIWYG form works then there is no need for a preview button, yet a preview button is needed, this should speak volumes about the software.
---
I have to enter some dashes to separate paragraphs!
---
I used to like coming to the Motors TV forum, especially the interactivity with the commentators during the races, this experience has gone from excellent to poor and it has nothing to do with anyone other than the "Web developers".  I have to ask, is it an ego thing?  Lack of experience after 9 years in business?  What is it?
---
And yes, I am so annoyed about it that I don't really care if I get banned any more, it really does grind my gears when people get paid for being incompetent, the money could have been better spent by giving it to charity!

I've already read this but thank you for the link

The choice not depend only of the crosslinking between categories and forums. You have no information about others parameters, databases used by MTV and the final choice. Why are you talking in each of your post you are going to be banned? Nobody is going to banned you.

your point of view is very constructive.

I just followed the link and read about Drupal. In doing so I noticed that one of the signatures read "Test site, always start with a test site."

Seems to me that is exactly what MotorsTV's developers did not do. De-bugging or re-developing once the facility has been deployed is pathetic; I trust MotorsTV will adjust their payment to the developers accordingly.

Why was the new forum deployed before it was ready?

Er, I was not the one the brought crosslinking in to the conversation....

That is correct, I can only surmise what about what the most sensible parameters would be, and these parameters apply to pretty much everything that is a replacement for anything.
  1. Is what is already in place broken?
  2. Is the replacement item fully functional?
Choice of database is irrelevant.

Past experience at other forums, I salute your progressive view on forum moderation.

i'm happy to view that quote seems to work correctly now.

Now we must ad the quote button and edit button on each posts.

and about choice of database, it's not what i want to say exactly, but i'm not going to speak french

here. and "save" button will change sonn too. You're right, the term isn't correct here.

Suggestions...

1. Re-instate "View posts since last visit" functionality

2. Restore "Edit" and "Delete" functionality for existing posts

3. Change styling so that left hand panel (ie. profile) is of a fixed width. Currently when scanning threads the eye has to go all over the place.

4. The only way to get back to the most recent posts appears to be to go to the MotorsTV front page... there is no obvious link there from the forum.

5. On the main site examine why in some browsers it is not possible to use the drop down menus - when you try to select a drop down item the list disappears as soon as you move the cursor away from the top level menu (ie. to move to the sub-list!)...
