JB browse the thread on Digital Spy-Forums-Broadcasting-NASCAR rights 2010 and you will see all about it.

Anyone can hire time on Open access channels 1/2/3 for a fee, it seems that ESPN and a Richard Garvie might have a hand in this after the kerfuffle caused by Sky not showing NASCAR live this year. Obviously more concerned with damn football, as in rammed down your throat!!

Hi everyone yes channel 190 is showing nascar live which includes pre race show, race and after show and should be on every week we have garvie to thank for this. The only down side is the picture and sound quality are not great but when you are getting it for free we must not complain as you dont have to pay. Also where the ads are in america it will go into silent mode with aerial shots or in car shots hope everyone enjoys it.

Thanks for the link.....it seems there were a lot of sceptics who'll be eating humble pie tonight!!

Dont see any mention of ESPN though...and still dont get this guy can afford the rights?

A few complaints about the picture and sound quality but IMO it's 1,000 times better than finding a stream on t'internet......and it's free!!!!

Heather someone from ESPN emailed one of the guys on DS and said that we would be getting NASCAR live, so I took that to mean they knew something! Also someone with deep pockets are obviously behind this as IIRC it costs around £4500 per hour to hire an OA channel and only a big concern could afford that with no income on subs etc.

OK the picture was not brilliant but we did not have to put up with Sky's interminable wittering on US ad breaks plus their truly dreadful NASCAR 'music'  AND we get all the pre and post race malarkey that they never screened.

All us fans owe someone a huge debt of gratitude.

Great to see NASCAR on open access, i can't see much wrong with the coverage. Pictures seem to be the same as sky sports, sound of the cars can be heard much better and no discussions from the studio in the UK, pure american coverage can't beat it.

That was a whole lot better, and as Matt says the pictures are now equal to what Sky used to show. Pre and post race too. Looks like Edwards is due a few slaps for uplifting Kesolowski into the fence at 200 mph!!

I don't know if anybody else has tripped over this yet but OPEN ACCESS 3 SKY Channel 190 is showing the Sprint Cup races in their entirety including the American TV Pre-show. Next up 12:00 midnight Saturday for the Phoenix Race. You get all the action without the rabbit from the UK "experts". Don't forget.

I've been trying to get my wife to switch to DishNet so we can have more channels then regular cable. Finally got her to listen after showing her all the channels she could get. Even put one in some monitors in the van for the kids to watch while driving around. Talked to an auto insurance agent he said in the back seats they are fine.
