After his fourth win on the roll, looks like Jimmie Johnson should get his second title at Homestead barring total breakdown. He has come on real strong lately to prevent car owner(!!) Jeff Gordon from getting another title. This should please the JJ fan on this forum. 86 points is a huge margin to overhaul in one race.

...NASCAR, for the most boring chase in the history of, er..., the chase.
oh, and a smug git (in fact, make that TWO smug gits) winning his 2nd championship in a row just makes it worse. i would like to jeff to win, simply because over the year he has been the man to beat.
smoke wins his championsips in 3-year cycles so i should have something to celebrate this time next year...

Well the last race was somewhat of a non event, but kudos to JJ, even if the real winner on a level playing field would have been Jeff Gordon. Say Brendan, Smoke has a Toyota next year....how does Toyota and good year equate?? ![LOL [lol]](http://www.motorstv.com/en/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

i think toyota will do ok. in a gibbs chassis.
the problems they had this year are down to being with crap teams - mwr were poor with chevy engines, bdr were poor with dodge engines. the toyota engines are the only real difference, as far as i can see, they make good power and seem to have been reliable. time will tell...
...but what an upset it would be if toyota take the sprint cup in '08!!

Could be an upset. Your right that its all down to the fact that, at the moment, the toyota teams are pretty second rate. The only team that consistently been performing resonably well is the #22 team, infact i'd venture that he's had one of the best under the radar performances of the year.
But the engines are good, and they've got plenty of money to throw around, give them a couple of years tops before they start competing. They will certainly get a win next year!
