I watched the highlights of the last race at Nashville lastnight, and noticed that we didn't have the usual coverage of the 3 commentators, the Hollywood Hotel and the pitreporters. This team wasn't bad, but it takes some getting used to.

I do recall something simular happened halfway through last season because of broadcasting rights or something, but I don't recall the details. Can anyone share some light on this? Is this the commentary team that we'll get for the rest of the season? (we're not yet halfway through though)

Last weekend the Busch Series was racing at Nashville with the Cup Series at Pocono so the "normal" crew would have remained in Pocono to cover qualifying for the Cup race while a second crew did the Busch race.

Usual issues of it not being possible for one person to be in multiple places at once, shame that really sometimes. ;)

Im guessing (i didnt see it), that it would be the SPEED crew who usually do the ARCA series?

Opiate,

The nascar season for TV purposes is split between the Fox team (Darrell Waltrip, Mike Joy, Chris Myers, Jeff Hammond etc) and I think it is ABC (Benny Parsons etc).

The ABC team did the Daytona 500 and speedweeks this year, so hopefully the Fox team will be doing the 'chase for the cup' at the end of the year.

Personally I find the Fox team much better informed and easier to listen to the the ABC team as DW and co sound more like your friends in the living room listening to the race and having a joke about it with you.

Thanks
Fenwick

No, up until the end of this year, Fox do the first half and NBC do the second half. However they alternate each year for Speedweeks.

Personally, i dont havbe a particular favourite. DW gets annoying, Larry McReynolds is misguided and the Hollywood Hotel duo are, frankly, irritating.

Mind you, NBC isnt much better. I prefer the pit reporters for NBC, but Bill Weber is a waste of time and Benny Parsons doesnt appear to be able to speak English. However, i dont mind Wally Dallenbach!

ESPN's coverage from next year should be pretty good though, there coverage in the past has been very good!!!

Coverage for Fox's away team was Hank Parker Jr, Hermie Sadler and Jarrett, my mind is blank I keep wanting to say Ned, but it is not Ned but Dale's brother.
