basically motors will do whats best for them as a business so if thats taking money of peoguet then they will, if that stops them showing btcc them that will happen as well, way the world works i'm affraid to say.

Yeaa and unfortunately that screws over the BTCC fans who enjoy a good days racing in front of the telly.

the fans of more minor sports always get screwed.

i'm an endurance fan, so i wanted full coverage of lms, i'd have accepted all six hours shown at 2am to 8am but instead we got 3 hours of sketchy coverage.
Then there FIA GT, that gione from 4hours in the bpr days to 3 hours to 2 hour races with 2 manidtory pitstops in an attempt to get a tv deal (mostly in germany) There cutting down the races to get the ******* german tv companys in buy coverage.

Quite common these days, the TV networks hold the power and championships all around the world are so desperate to get the exposure that comes with them they'll usually do anything they ask.
BTCC dropping Pitstops (yay!) Champcar timed races (boo!) NASCAR's Chase for the Championship (uh-oh), heck even F1 implimented that "No race can be longer than two hours" rule and became allergic to red flags, all in aid of TV.

But without that.....would we be seeing those championships?
Hmmm...good or bad.....discuss ;)

i've seen this said before and them doing what the tv wants is bad news. the problem is they want tv time in an attempt to make more money. The thing is people who race in fia gt are privateers for the most part. Apart fromvitaphone and af corse are private teams who'd be there any way for the msot part. I heard the exapmle of dragster racing given which prospers despite almost never being on tv. whats needed is a carefully money managed series. Rather than a series with 2 works teams making it difficult for the privateers to compete so they go somewhere else.

The only real problem then is the tracks, they need to come to some sort of arangement with them.

thats my 2 pence worth anyway.
