And a substantial payrise to boot, presumably to give him the #1 driver package that Alonso would otherwise have had...
I have to say "well deserved"... he did a fantastic job in 2007 (way exceeding everybody's expectations) and I hope he gets the car in 2008 to really challenge again for the title.

Great news. I hope, depending on results that he can be a one team man, dont think he'd want to drive for anyone else anyway

Yup of course, he is now fully intergrated with the team, so it seems like a Schumacher and Ferrari situation...

I guess we'll see... perhaps after his 5 years he'll decide he fancies a challenge and will go elsewhere, though as Damon Hill found out to his cost sometimes it's better to retire on top.

I think he will want to stay at Mclaren, because he knows and loves the team so much...

Maybe, although he has the natural talent behind the wheel, and thats the most important thing. I mean Lewis is no Ralf Schumacher, gets money so no need to impress anybody after that. ![LOL [lol]](http://www.motorstv.com/en/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
