For Le Mans with Eurosport we loose the coverage of scrutineering but they are still going to show qualifying, warm-up, historics (or histerics as as Martin called them) and the race in full. He said it would amount to more than 30hrs in the end.

The Martin mentioned is Martin Haven the main commentator on last years race coverage.

As they are putting money into doing round-up programmes for each of the LMS races then I would assume they will be doing one for Le Mans too.

The important point is that we maintain the interaction between commentators and forumers.

Well, its important to me anyway.

Me too, it is good that you can communicate with the commentators and ask questions etc. :)

Live television coverage of the Le Mans 24 Hours will return to Eurosport this year after the broadcaster signed a three-year agreement with Le Mans organisers the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO).

Eurosport has won back the rights to live coverage from Motors TV and will show the race in its entirety on the Eurosport and Eurosport 2 channels.

There will also be live streaming of the race, with commentary, on Eurosport's websites across Europe.

Eurosport will also show all five Le Mans Series 1,000km events during the season.
The deal will bring live coverage of the 24 Hours to 112 million homes in 59 European countries.

Eurosport Asia-Pacific will also show non-stop live coverage of the race in Asia and Australia.

Sounds pretty good to me, guess we'll have to wait and see what it is like in the long run.

The only problems are ad's every five minutes, news ticker etc. :(

I am still confused about the LE MANS coverage !! and how much live coverage we will all see !!!!! MOTORS TV !! was for covering motor sport !! which it does well !!! eurosport covers loads of sport !! motor sport just being one of them !!!!! They do have 2 channels !! so lets all hope and pray that 1 it deadecated just to LE MANS that week

You've got a good point there. :)

And does anybody know why/how Eurosport managed to win the coverage from Motors?

Tom.

1) Money.

2) Pressure from Audi/Peugeot for the races to be on a channel with a bigger audience.

I'm sorry if this question has been asked beofre, but I've had a quick trawl through and I can't find an answer.
Now that Eurosport have got LMS, does that also include coverage of the ALMS after Sebring as well? Or can we still look forward to the ther ALMS races on MotorsTV?
And if both series have gone to Eurosport, what will MotorsTV be showing this summer? DTM I assume, and anything else? They don't have BTCC, GP2 or F3. Any new endurance or tin-top action to look forward to?

Thats what worries me about Motors too, what will they show in the summer - apart from live DTM and maybe ALMS. Sebring has been confirmed by Ferederic on here, so that's some comfort.

Looks like Motors won't be on my TV much then. :(

Well they have and they haven't. Motors will still be showing each of the LMS races live and in full. Eurosport will have highlights and various parts live.

As far as I know the ALMS races will still be shown on Motors. Of course they will be at the mercy of whichever channel is showing them in the US as to whether they will be live or not.

Not that we know of. Now they have no excuse to not go after a deal to show Grand-Am & the Koni Challenge Series!

Eurosport will be having a webcast on their site for the whole of the 24hr race so people can keep in touch via that if they can't access Eurosport2.
