Good morning race fans!
Carlton and I are ready and waiting for Motors' live coverage of Round 3 of the DTM from the EuroSpeedway at Lausitz, Berlin's closest circuit since Avus shut down.
Once again, the Scottish prodigy (Paul di Resta, not Gordon Brown) has made the rest of the DTM field look stupid as he puts his 2005-spec Mercedes on the second row of a grid dominated by Mercedes: P1 through to P5, with Alexandra Premat, returning from his Hockenheim injury, the best of the Audis in P6 - and that another non-2007 car.
Bruno Spengler will start from his 4th career pole, looking for his 5th win, with Mika Hakkinen alongside for 48 laps of the combined oval/road course, which has a remodelled first turn to try to improve overtaking possibilities.
The Lausitzring has been largely Mercedes's property since it opend in 2000 - five Mercedes wins against just two for Audi, although in 2004 Britain's Gary Paffett won on the road only to be disqualified for running dry of fuel after taking the chequered flag. Gazza came back the following year to claim victory with fuel still in the tank.
So who will it be this afternoon? Hakkinen and di Resta were fastest in this morning's warm-up ahead of three more Mercedes, continuing the lock-out, leaving Ulsterman Adam Carroll best of the Audis.
But thanks to Paffett and di Resta's unprecedented 1-2 at Oschersleben, the '06 and '05 cars will be hurting with success weight, Paffett carrying almost 20 kilos more than his '07 teammates, and 30 more than the '06 Audis. It's going to be a long afternoon.
Keep these forum postings coming, and we'll try to give you a mention during our live coverage.

Hi Mark and Carlton!
This race should be good. Great to see di Resta up there again (I liked your little joke ) and also hopefully Hakkinen won't drop back like he did last time out. Spengler should win this one if he keeps it on the tarmac, but I wouldn't rule out another surprise winner!
Should be a great race.

looking forward to watching the race today. bit upset that adam carroll couldnt better 12th in qualifying but if im being honest, i dont think anyone else would have been able to do much better with his car, light or not. and its still the best qualifying result the futurecom team have had.....looking forward to see how he goes in the race. cant wait to see premat aswell.
mercedes know this place inside out though.

The weather in Bridlington (about 8 miless from where I live) is a light splatering of caravaners. I think I will go out later and petrol bomb the morons.

He wants a massage. Our local paper the Hull Daily Mail has loads of girls who offer massages in the back. He should get booked in.
Not sure why they need 'theme rooms' though?
