Good morning DTM fans, and welcome to Motors TV's live coverage of Round 9 of the world's top touring car series. Carlton Kirby and I are ready and waiting for the action at 12.45h UK from the Circuit de Catalunya, following two crash-filled F3 Euroseries races.

Turn 1 once again showed it takes no prisoners, so don't expect anything different in the DTM, in which Mercedes' Bernd Schneider shows there is still plenty of life in the old fox by claiming his 25th career pole position to add to his 43 wins - the most recent at the Nurbrugring this July.

Alongside him is Audi's champion-elect Timo Scheider, who has a 9 point lead over British Mercmen Jamie Green and Paul di Resta as they go into the final three races.

Paul starts 3rd today, Jamie 5th, with German Martin Tomczyk between them for the Audi driver's 80th DTM start. Best of the 2007 runners are Audi stablemates Mike Rockenfeller and Alex Premat, starting from Row 4 fresh from their surprise LMS title at Silverstone last weekend.

After missing Brands I am looking forward to Barcelona, the place that we were introduced to the Lola-Aston in LMP1.

Hopefully we will have an equal surprise somewhere in this race (Susie might get a podium, you never know)

Is Le Mans the next race?.

I know why Tom Kristensen is a bit more volitile in the DTM... Could it be that the races are not long enough for him?

Look at the endurance races, he is fine at both Le Mans and Sebring, maybe he needs over 2 hours in the car?
