Yep, the Mclaren looks compeitive this year as well. Although they'll need an agressive developent strategy to beat Ferrari.

To those that bashed Button, he is the best British drivers in years. You might not notice it because he doesn't have the best car, but in Hungary last year (to name one) he showed his true potential when the car isn't the decisive factor.

Because of his raw speed, racing talent and smooth style, he managed to nab at least a second a lap of Alonso's advantage. It's a shame that Alonso retired, because Button would've nailed it even with Alonso on the track. A lot of people look at statistics to make their judgement about a driver, which is the totally wrong approach. You can't expect from Button to score loads of points or victories with a car that isn't able to produce those results.

In fact, the best seasons Button had so far, was 2004 where he had the chance to win races if it weren't for the dominate Ferrari's or bad luck (huge gaps in the championship with the Ferrari's ahead and Renault's behind) and in 2006 he got the most out of the car, resulting in the most point scoring driver in the last 6 races of the season. Button is underestimated by a lot of people and that's mainly caused by the fact that they only look at statistics.

Hamilton is everyone's new star, and eventhough I agree that he has a lot of potential, he also has a lot to learn. Starting in the 2nd best car on the grid is hardly a way to determine whether someone is good or not. Winning with a car that's capable of winning is something completely different than winning a race with a car that's not able to win races. Schumacher drove some of his best races when he was comfortably at the lead, but when he would drive on 3rd or 4th place, he used to make a lot of dumb mistakes. The only way to know how good Hamilton really is, is by seeing how he does in a car that's not all that good. Like the 07 Renault for example...

Button may be very good, but I'm frankly fed up with him.

What the hell is he doing at Honda? He is blind? Everyone can see how badly Honda is doing, so why stick with them? Honda are one of those teams which promise a lot, but deliver very little.

Button needs to use his brain, and get out there. But unfortunately he's so stupid he can't see that Honda aren't going to win anything in the near future. He simply fooling himself if he thinks that.

Also, Button doesn't really mind having an-compeitive car, he's happy to stroll through life at the back of the grid. As long as he's getting paid millions and has an apartment in Monaco, he's happy - not a true racer, is he?

I'll concede he's fast, but lazy and stupid. And he's certainly not special like Alonso or Schumi.

Time is running out for Button. But the question is; can he motivate the team or go elsewhere? Probably neither...

Can you imagine he actually paid to drive for Honda (because of that Williams contract, yet another mistake from Button). What an idiot!!!

All he is; is a middle class, pompous idiot. Who loves being paid millions, but is not overly concerned about his car.

Well EnzoF1 decided to talk about Button. But thread's often to seem to lose their Original topic.

You couldn't be more wrong. But I've been looking through some of your previous posts and noticed there's no point in starting a discussion with you. Everyone that disagrees with you basically gets burned down and those that agree, are being praised. Well constructed method of having discussions...not.

I just posted that message about Button, because most people (like sav) don't see his true potential and like to see him as a lazy, money-grabbing nobody. Williams wouldn't have been a better alternative and Honda is currently having some issues. Seeing as he has a contract until 2009, there really is no other option for Button than to stick with Honda. And I seriously think that Honda will be back up there for next year.

Does button have potential yes, will he ever prove himself to be better than hamilton i suspect no.

btw i'm support the red and yeelow half of the mclaren garage and if alonso can't win then it's heidfeld.

Exactly, what the hell was Button doing?

I think because Button has been with Honda for longer, he thinks he should be ahead, slightly arrogant.

You have the damn problem, your the only person on this forum who thinks Button is brilliant, and nobody's agree's with your opinions in general, so just shut up.

All of us regular forumers get on well, we agree on most things, and we don't make controversial and stupid remarks.

Take for example; your "THE BRITS" post in the DTM section, firstly you spoke utter crap, we all responded, and then you digged a biggger hole for your self by speaking more shit - not very sensible. Sometimes it's just better to hold your hands up, and admit you were wrong.

Your doing exactly the same here, just blurting out views that nobody's really interested in.

Here's a tip: when you post on a forum, make sure your posts are sensible and reasonable. Your frankly irrating many people, and nobody likes you or agrees with you.

It annoy's me how thye ITV crew think Lewis is the best thing since sliced bread. He really should be fighting up the front because he is in
good car. If you stuck Kovalainlen in the car he would be just as good. He is good but the car is the main thing. He definatly isn't the best driver on the grid. I would rate him seventh best.
1. Massa
2. Rosberg
3. Alonso
4. Coulthard
5. Kimi
6. Heidfeld
7. Hamilton

Good point dave, I'm not saying anymore. I'm leaving this one. Maybe it's just our opinions conflicting? Anyway, let's just leave it at that, it's the best way.

ImperialAssassin, I'm not sure wear I'd put Hamilton...

Lewis is the real deal. When deciding who is a great driver, you first look at their team mate.

Lewis's team mate is Fernado Alonso, a man who in my opinion was the best in F1 for the last few years (only Schumacher came close for both speed and brains). Kimi had the speed, but makes a few mistakes from time to time, such as running into Montoya.

Look at past legends, Prost was on it from the off, Senna was on it (even though he had low calibre team mates), Schumacher turned up and blew away Piquet. Other greats turned up and were beaten by their team mates, Mansell by Andretti, Giles Vill by Reuteman.

What I am trying to say here is that Lewis is damn quick out of the box, he has shown up Alonso the last two races on pace.

He WILL be a legend.

As for Button, he is fast when he has a good car set up, but all his team mates have been about equal to him. Fisco made him look shit, and even Barrichello is slightly ahead of him at the moment.

Button is another Coulthard or Irvine. Good for the odd race victory, solid enough, but will only win a championship in a superior car like Hill did.

I'm frankly baffled at Alonso's lack of pace. It's incredible that the double world champ can't keep up with Lewis who is driving his fourth GP.

Also, that move on Massa at the start shows he's really feeling the pressure - something that Lewis manages to soak up with ease.
