Jenson Vs Barricello, What do you think?

This year was regarded as make or break for Jenson, he has been pitted against a man with serious form and presence in F1. He has finally won his first Grand Prix, do you think he has justified his claim to be top dog in the Honda for next season, or do you think that the team was set up around JB, and that next year we will see a very different performance from Rubens...?

Rubens hasnt been bad. Infact, in 5 or 6 races he's positively outshone Jenson.

OK, Jenson got the plaudits, and rightly so, for his Hungary victory, but Rubens hasnt been left for dead, as he pretty much was at Ferrari!

Rubens likes Honda, he's said so many times, and the longer he stays with them, the faster he'll get!

Rubens has got to be on it from the word go next year though, hasn't he? He's put in some great (yet over looked) race turns this year but has had puzzling inconsistantcy. I guess not in the summer of his F1 career either. I feel that without a stellar 2007, next season could be his last.
Or is he on a 3 year deal?

i think to be fair RB probably went to honda thinking that because he was close to schum pace at times he would be faster than button. 5years or so in a championship winning team may cause a situation where its easy just to turn up,fine tune your car and go fast.honda obviously dont have that luxury and it must be tough going backwards in terms of performance. i would think its more of a shock to him than anything else. the worst thing though, he must be thinking "if only i had stayed at ferrari for one more yeat"...............

I think Rubens has done a good job this year in a car that was set up around Jenson, the team had a tricky 1st half of the season but results are improving. I do feel that he will need a win or 2 next season to secure his place beyond 2007, but he must feel a little surprised that Jenson has had the goods on him, in races if not qualifying...

Jenson however, must be pleased to have gotten out from under the "Whens the first win coming" Question. He seems to have more confidence as a result, but Honda's MD described the win as lucky and put it down as a one-off. I understand why this was done but it seems a little churlish of Honda not to be happier for the team!

I think Jenson will feel that he is going in to 2007 with the upper hand on Rubens, but he will need to keep winning and the team moving forward or Rubens will run him closer next year... And BMW will be the next winners if they don't get on with it :8

I think Rubens will retire at the end of 2007.

I want to know why he has 150 teeth. He is like a shark.

I think (I may be wrong) that he's the only driver remaining in F1 (with the exception of Michael) who was driving at Imola in 1994 when Ayrton died... strange to think that was only 12 years ago, but most of the drivers have retired or moved onto other forms of motorsport...

It is easy to think, because of the sort of drives that he's had, that Rubens is younger than he is... but he is 34... most drivers retire before they're 40, if not much earlier... if he wants to become World Champion he needs to get on with it...

He is like a shark! I met him in Cambridge once, just before he went to Ferrari, like greeting a smiling jaws face on! Lovely guy though.

He is a great guy, a real gent. I like the way he always speaks to Brundle on the grid walks. Herr Schumie only talks to some boxhead off RTL.

I heard Schumi had an exclusive (and lucrative!) contract to only talk to RTL people...
