As the subject says, ITV sucks...
Crucial qualifying session tomorrow morning isn't even going to be televised live, despite ITV having 4 stations to show it on...
I don't want to watch a "Qualifying Show" at 3pm tomorrow afternoon when the session was at 7am... by then I'll have found out the results...
What a joke!
Sean

Indeed.
And you'll find that on the ITV F1 forums, if you try to enlighten them to this then your entry won't get posted thanks to their censorship methods. ITV just take the piss out of the fans.

It isn't the FIA or Bernie's fault that ITV aren't showing the qualifying... they could have done had they wished... there have been other "flyaway" GPs that they've shown on ITV2 or ITV3 when they clashed with something really important like "GMTV" on the main channel... I see ITV3 is showing a repeat of "Jeeves and Wooster" with Fry and Laurie... what a useful purpose for a TV Channel at 7am...
Anyway, "watching" it on the Formula1.com site through the live timing... qualifying appears to be going well... Alonso looks streaks ahead after 2 sessions... but Michael ominously slipped himself into 9th in the final seconds of Q2 having previously only managed 15th...
Final session about to start... so boring 10 minutes to come, burning fuel etc... might go and make a cup of tea.
ITV you really do suck!
Sean
ps. congrats to Robert Doornbos in making it into the last 10 in his first ever GP Qualifying... should be an exciting last 5 minutes...

Looks like it was a great qualifying session, and a result that suits me... the rain seemed to play a big part with regard to tyre performance, will be interesting to see if it is dry tomorrow how the positions change in the first few laps...
Won't post anything here about who got what and where, in case folks are intending to watch the ITV coverage this afternoon... results at http://formula1.com/race/result/767/24.html ... suffice to say I am looking forward to tomorrow's race... some interesting "pairings" on the grid a little way down the field...

ITV suck. I do not buy any of the items on the adverts during the commercial break. I boycott them.

i pretty much second that, bad advertising (both the advert and it's placing should be punished.

I don't think that they should be allowed to advertise products that are already sponsers of the teams or circuits. There are billboards all round the tracks and the cars themselves are mobile advertising hoardings, yet some companies still feel that they're not getting enough coverage.

if you put your name on a car, i probably buy it, you advertise dyring a live event (ie i miss the action, i wont.)
That said TV companys need to advertise, but there is a comprimise. I believe the spanish do it for bike racing....
You show the adverts as normal accept you put a box in the top corner showing the live action, it's not perfect but it does kind of work for everybody.

OK, qualifying is more important, arguably, and certainly more exciting (save for rare exceptions) than the race, but really, its qualifying, which makes it not a race.
Really, who is going to get up at 3:30 in the morning to watch a qualifying session. Firstly, you'll fall asleep during the fuel burn phase if you havnt already and really, there is no point as your not goign to miss anything (though i'd rather see it at a sensible time rather than 3:30!!!)
Now, i watch F1 live whenever possible, but that only extends to races and, sometimes, qualli. Unless im still awake (watching Baseball or playing Flight Sim 9 or something), im not going to get up at the crack of dawn to watch a qualifying session, especially considering that sleep will be severly limited due to the race the following day.
Now, if they qualified the weekend before, then i might get up and watch it as at least il get a ly in on sunday morning, but i dont expect that to happen anytime soon!

I Can't believe with the importance of qually for Japan and Brazil that they have taken it out of the schedules for live coverage, the championship is down to the wire and they don't give a crap!
