Really, who is going to get up at 3:30 in the morning to watch a qualifying session. Firstly, you'll fall asleep during the fuel burn phase if you havnt already and really, there is no point as your not goign to miss anything (though i'd rather see it at a sensible time rather than 3:30!!!)

But neither China nor Japan were 3.30am... the former was 7am and the latter 6am... wasn't as if ITV were showing anything useful at the time... GMTV... they managed to delay it on the Sunday for the race so why not Saturday too?

Brazil will be sometime early evening, maybe 6pm or 7pm from memory. That's the one that I can see ITV having an issue with, what with their high-profile "Saturday night entertainment" etc... but at least put it on one of the other channels, guys! Come on....

Worst case scenario, put it on ITV2, ITV3 or ITV4... none of which had anything useful on at all (the latter being totally off air) during China or Japan quali...

Now, if they qualified the weekend before, then i might get up and watch it as at least il get a ly in on sunday morning, but i dont expect that to happen anytime soon!

Oh please no! I love the idea of a "race weekend"... remember, some people actually travel to the track to watch this stuff... wouldn't be the same if a "Grand Prix Weekend" was simply a load of practice and the race... no, don't want this idea thank you.

they never will give a crap either, it's not football. so they don't understand it.

Terrestrial TV sport has gone downhill completely in recent years, probably fuelled by the emergence of Sky and these fierce bidding wars for everything...

I remember when you could turn on BBC2 or ITV and get an evening of live athletics many times through the season... similar with other sports... it had a place in the TV schedules...

...I remember that the first ever UK "Breakfast TV" was the coverage of the Brisbane Commonwealth Games (Des Lynham's debut, I recall) about a year before TV at that time of the morning officially got off the ground...

...fact is that there are now too many channels in some way, so the "big four" (BBC1/2, ITV, C4) just aren't showing sport... preferring to save money and show repeats of lame comedies that should have died long ago...

we do have to many channels, but we do need at least 1 more. Motorstv2, everything from lms races live through out, to repeats of the 1984 brazil grand prix and more! As for teristial channels I can't remembered the last time I made an effort to watch anything on one of them. The odd 30 minutes of something funny maybe but not really much else.
