Yes we have all heard the stories about this countries problems with electrical components BUT has any one ever seen it in action??
I did yesterday on a 'M' Reg Punto.
Well it came in for a battery nothing odd in that you might think, but i had replaced the battery and was bringing it into the garage to check out the charge rate and when reversing it into the garage i was doing 50MPH on the speedo in reverse!!
then when going forward i was going at 130 MPH in a 8v Punto i think not!
but more weired things happend as as it was sat there at idle it was clocking up milage it did 5 miles just sat this would have been OK had it gone backward on the mileometer.
this was the first experiance of seeing dodgy electrics!
Yes you will come back and say that Renault will do this but i very much doubt it however i was wondering wether anyone else on here has seen this??

Yes he does and it should be something he should be aware of
It went for an MOT and come back with 10 more miles on it even though the testing station we use is only about a Mile!

Once my dads Pug speedo stopped working, then suddenly on the next journey it was okay!!

I gave gained some good advice from Fifth Gear regarding the speedo, rev counter trip computer etc. Make sure all the right lights come on, if they don't the car is buggered apprently.

It all lit up fine but it was just that the speedo zipped round to 130 and the Fuel light was illuminated even though it had half a tank in it and even when it was turned off it was idling at 1500 rpm [!!!!] :S :S
