Hi fellow Forumer's

With every man and his dog seemingly abandoning the WRC, perhaps the best place to find true rallying in 2009 will be the IRC. You've got five or six manufacturers, classic and new destinations (the new home of the Monte, no less) and a decent array of drivers including some familiar faces.

What do you think of the series and can it, even without world championship status, provide fans with the level of entertainment long since missing from the WRC?

Let the debate begin...

A great series that i have been following since it started. It has a great combination of young and old drivers.

But will probelly loose teams/drivers when the WRC brings in the new S2000 regs.

I hope it doesn't.

I think Audi makes a good point, right now IRC is where 'it is', but when the WRC brings out the S2000 spec in the next few years it may well be reborn.

If market conditions improve we could see Subaru back, Suzuki might be back in 2010, i read the VW is thinking of abandoning Dakar to launch a WRC programme and that Proton may also be looking to enter WRC in 2010 (possibly with Solberg as no1 driver).

WRC at the moment is still a top sport with top drivers, but the sooner they get the regulations sorted out the better i think, the FIA seem to be spending too much time sorting out F1 at the moment though.

Having just watched the Monte Carlo Rally(IRC) i watched rally Ireland and rally Norway(Both WRC) i was bored in the first 10 minutes of both.

This shows how bad the production of the show is.I understand why Ford and citroen are the only manufacturers in the wrc.
