This weekend the GP2 Asia Series continues at Sentul International Circuit in Indonesia. We saw some great racing in the first round in Dubai, hopefully we will see more thrilling racing this weekend.

Can Grosjean be dominant again, or can anybody catch the ART driver? We will just have to wait and see...

State wrap:

Location: Km 42 Citeureup - Bogor, West Java Indonesia
Turns: 11
Circuit Length: 4.12 km
Lap record: 1:19.029, Ralph Firman - 2006

Any broadcast times yet? Just wondered if it'll be like Dubai and Fri/Sat races, if so i need to get the Sky+ sorted.

I understand that the feature race will be broadcasted live on Saturday morning at 7:45 am, the sprint race Eurosport appear not be showing it live - however a tape delay is coming at 10 am on Sunday.

Matt the races are only on Saturday and Sunday, so both races can't be shown on Saturday.

Hmm mixed feeling about the race.

Regarding the first safety car peroid, the Indonesian marshalls were clearly quite in-experienced and that's fair enough, because the Sentul circuit doesn't actually host much racing and Indonesia hasn't exactly got an illustrious motorsports history. However, GP2 is a very high category series and the circuit conditions and marshalling just were not up to scratch. And the track was incredibly dusty and dirty - because of the lack of racing on the circuit.

The first safety car peroid lasted an agonising 12 laps, there wasn't even a major incident - the marshalls were just struggling to get the cars in the gravel off the track.

Because of the circuit surface breaking up, drivers were going off left, right and centre - only 11 cars out of 25 cars actually finished. :P

We did see some amazing racing though, Senna really showed his skills when he had that drive through penalty, over the race distance he was the fastest man. Senna then managed to get past the two drivers (forgot which ones they were) in front battling for pole in tomorrows race. Then Senna overtook them both - a stunning drive. :D

Ben Hanley must be mentioned, his first GP2 race and get's 4th place from 18th on the grid. A fantastic drive - [bravo] [bravo] He just kept his head down and kept the car on the track, which most failed to do.

Buemi - He didn't see the chequered had been waved - so kept on battling with Fillpi. :lolbis:

The last lap was electric, and chaos all through the race. :8

Roll on the sprint race.

Hard luck for Fillipi, after he drove well.
Fantastic debut for Ben Hanley, now on the podium!!

He' signed up with Campos, that's why he's in the Asia series with them.

I was a little confused: it totally looked like the chequered flag was waved twice [!!!!] :S

The man of the race was Senna for me. Although I didn't understand why they couldn't bring him out in the second safety car period after wasting the first one, he put in a blistering race pace and got away with 3 points (now with Filippi being excluded).

And Ben Hanely oh my [!!!!] Another man of the race [!!!!]
Not drawing much attention to himself but his result sure does. A cunning driver who could make life harder for the others. :P
