what year was the famous crash at le mans when a car whas going incredibly fast along the main straight, when it lost front downforce and literaly took off into the air and did about 4 flips in the air untill it came down and landed on the side of the track, behind the barriers. also what team, driver did the crash belong to.

Yes, it was. They performed 3 examples of aerobatics that year - once at the pre-qualifying - someone arrived at the Hunaudieres chicane upside-down), once at the Saturday morning warm-up (Mark Webber no less) where he nearly landed on top of a Corvette, and then Peter Dumbreck back-flipped, luckily into a recent clearing in the trees at the kink between Mulsanne and Indianapolis corners. Scary.

The first two accidents were both for Mark Webber. Must be an upside down Aussie thing I guess...

He also was very luck to land in a clearing in the trees that had been made just the week before. Just adds to the spookiness/mistique!
