I guess we would have a commercial break every 5 minutes because of the extraordinary prices you have to pay to the FIA to be able to broadcast the F1... At least, that's my guess :) (and since they don't allow commercial breaks in the live report...).

ITV have all the UK broadcasting rights, The ITV show is good but they should start showing the practice, if you live in ireland then you can watch the practicse qualifing and the race on satanta sports. I dont think we will be seeing F1 on motors tv for a while.

F1 will be on ITV for a while yet and then Setanta might get the rights if itv lose them which i suspect they wont.

motors wont get F1 full stop. they just dont have the coverage for it - ie not on DTT nor cable

Remember, years and years ago, Eurosport had coverage of F1. Shame that they cancelled it at the end of the season that we got sky :(

Think the cost involved meant they couldnt keep it up!

As stated Motorstv is 'THE' RACE channel
F1 is not racing just very fast cars driven by very good test drivers.
Give F1 to channel 5 and leave Motorstv for real racing.

Ah that explains programs like STEAM TRAIN CLASSICS and AUSTRALIA ROAD on MotorsTV... real racing programs... Nascar Bush Series, now _that_ is real racing *yawn*. Since MotorsTV does show 1 race about 20 times, there is enough time in the schedule to show F1 for the ones who like to watch that, and still show all the other races they show. But like others already stated, I can't imagine that Motors will ever show F1 races and definitely not live (although it would be nice if they would show old F1 races from the 60s, 70s, and 80s).

Eurosport had the Eurovision feed thing that the BBC (part of the same) put out, but with Ben Edwards and John Watson commentating. When the Beeb lost the rights, so Eurosport had nothing to show unfortunately as it was a whole damn sight better than listening to James 'I love Ferrari' Allen.

Eurosport still show F1 in Europe... It's just the UK where they are not allowed to as ITV have exclusive rights...

:S: Well not only in the UK then, in the Netherlands you won't find F1 either on Eurosport... they show GP2 and Porsches Cup (at least, every now and then...) and that's it (although I can't say I miss it because SBS6 shows the F1 races without any commercial breaks :)).

Just watched F1 on ITV (I almost got to the inevitable end)

Thanks for the tip about STEAM TRAIN CLASSICS and AUSTRALIA ROAD on MotorsTV... I will give them a try they must be better than what I have just witnessed.
Great idea about the old F1 races from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

I doubt that...when I go to Europe and look at Eurosport, NEVER have I seen F1 live on that station.

That only depends on what you'd like to see for racing... but it's always sad when people call F1 not racing. You don't have to watch it (so why complain about how boring it is, just switch the channel), just like that I luckily don't have to watch the extremely boring Nashcar and Indycar series (do those guys know that you can also have corners to the right? And that you can mix them up in 1 race? We call that a circuit...).

Although actually I don't mind that Motors will never show F1, in Holland the broadcasts are not bad at all. It would be nice though if they would show the Gp2 and Porsche Supercup. Constantly change form Eurosport to Eurosport2 (and then find out that Eurosport2 has the UK times and those are not equal to the European times... so I only saw the last 3 laps of the Porsche Cup...), or not showing the race at all because of some tennis or tour de france thingie.... And especially the Gp2 races are great :) (but I guess that the TV rights for Gp2 are not really cheap either... and racing should be without commercial breaks :)).

f1 from past seasons would be a great addition, full race re-runs.
As for F1 being dull, it is if compared to most other racing series, I still enjoy watching F1 but its very low on the list now.
As for Nascar and Indycar, ovals can be quite enertaining but it rare, however let nascar loose on watkins glen on at mexico city and they produce some really good racing, same thing with indycar. Macro Andrettti at Watkins Glen was fun until Cheever put him in the wall. (i know half of them are rubbish on road cousres)
And Champcar is far far superior to F1, I just a shame there are so few entrys, Suppost champcar real racing for real drivers.

Sorry got a bit off topic, If motorsTV did get F1 we would probably loose everything else to fund it son keep it away, just the older stuff please.
