Hello everybody, in less than a weeks time F1 roars back into action for the first round of the FIA 2008 Formula One World Championship at the Albert Park Circuit - 2008 FORMULA 1 ING AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX.

I look forward to every F1 season, hopefully we will see more great racing this year and little off track politics.

For the Australian GP, here is the track guide: Image

Here is an onboard lap of the Albert Park circuit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOES-LOSDis

We have a new safety car and medical car this season, the Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG replacing the CLK63 AMG, and the C55 AMG Estate Medical Car is being replaced by the new C63 AMG Estate Medical Car.

Tomorrow ITV1 have a preview show from 11:10-12:10 pm.

Every qualifying session and race will be broadcasted live by ITV Sport on ITV1 and sometimes ITV4, but alternatively you can also see live practice, qualifying and races on US channel Speed via TVU. Click on "download" and select "Wheels": http://pages.tvunetworks.com/

As usual Inside Grand Prix is on Motors TV next week, this 26 minute programme looks at technical analysis of the circuit, driver interviews and inside F1 features. The first broadcast is on Tuesday 11th March and will be shown on various days after that.

You can discuss anything regarding the Australian GP right here, your predictions for the race, who you will be supporting and which teams will be strong this season and not so strong this season. Also, the interesting subject of no traction control, if that will change the nature of the races and drivers may have to be more careful on the throttle when exciting corners.

Enjoy the race and the season! :D

Yea nice work sav, shame it will all go to waste though seeing as Mclaren are pants!!!

And yes the rivalry shall begin again >:D >:D

Cant wait for this season, and hopefully one as you say with less of the track drama and more on track top notch racing which we should see this season i reckon!

A typical trait of a Ferrari fan there, instantly being nasty about other teams. ;) [lol]

But yes I am looking foward to an extremely compeititive season, I think it's so close between the two top teams nobody can possibly tell who is fastest. But one thing is quite certain, Mclaren have a more reliable car - which is very important. I'm also looking foward to the mid-field battles, they were quite good last season. :o

First practice will be awesome!

Thanks for introducing me to Speed, Sav... was great to watch those practice sessions tail end of last season not having seen such since Eurosport in the early-mid 90s.

Thanks chaps, too kind. :)

No problem Sean, I also find watching the practice sessions enjoyable, you see very unusual mistakes from drivers which you don't usually see in qualifying or the races - it is also a nice built up to the weekend's proceeding's. TVU show highlights of practice 1 and live practice 2 - just to clarify that.

Live Timing is available on the official F1 site of every session, and Eurosport offers this service too.

Cal, the colour is bright for the Cadbury's egg Renault, not sure about the future. ;)
