Engine development will be completely frozem starting from 2008.

So basically, if you have a poor engine now, you are buggered for the next 10 years...http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/63626

Yup, brilliant for costs - not good for the car makers. As they like to show off their engine development when it comes to marketing terms. This will no longer be possible.

Is it still possible for F1 to still be the most technology advanced series after the 10 years are up.

Personally after this i'd say no

Exactly and the thing that is laughable is that its supposed to be the pinacle of motorsport ::)

This must be music to Frank Williams ears, staying independent should pay off now as most engine manufacturers will now quit the sport.

I have to admit I'm happy about this. Being a Merc fan...
The current Mercedes engine is brilliant, so as long as the chassis isn't a mess like the MP4-19, there won't be many engine failures for Mercedes.

:iagree:

This year the Mercedes engine has been faultless, without one single failure. So they don't have to worry at all, where's Honda do.

Yes, thats the nail in the Honda coffin. If thats one down, over the next 10 years the best engine will become apparent and many more will whittle away. I wonder what happens if a new engine company wants in, also what happens if they all leave?

I don't think you will see much difference in terms of engine competitiveness over the next 10 years, so Honda have a major problem.

Its widely known that their V8 is poor.
