Yup me too, but hopefully a good car maker...

This must make it more attractive for car makers, now that they won't have to design their own chassis's.

Like I said, I think the DTM prototyes are superb, but unfortunatly because they are costly to build no other car makers are interested in coming to the sport.

I think we need something in between an S2000 car and a current DTM car, road based but with 3.0 V6's producing 330 - 350 hp. And you can use hybrids too and bio-fuel engines too, as many car makers sell road-going versions of both fuels - therefore making the series more attractive.

The cars should be production based, as Fabian says - to cut costs. But they should be superior to S2000 spec cars to remain a premier series.

Exactly, cars like the 190 Evo II, RS Cosworth, M3 EVO and original 'class 1' Alfa 155 are what made the DTM great.

The original class 1 regs got out of countrol, now the same is happening with current cars.

The 190 Evo II has to be one of my all time favourite touring cars and talk about them takes me back to the good old days. At the end of the days rules always need to be updated and revised as teams will always try and work out a way to get round them, so constant revision is the only option.

If DTM plans to use Dallara chassis's, thats a very smart way around having to use production based cars. The chassis's will still be carbonfibre, but the costs will be lower because everybody has the same chassis.

It would be the middle way but I don't like it. Then we have nearly NASCAR. One car with different labels...
To have a production car as basic would be better becasue it's a chassis that is from this car maker. With a chassis for everyone you loose the spirit of the manufactures I think.

I agree, but the ITR seems to want carbon-fibre chassis's to me. I don't think they have even mentioned production based cars.

As I said above, production based, rear wheel drive cars with 3.0 V6's for me. :D
