I think we need something in between an S2000 car and a current DTM car, road based but with 3.0 V6's producing 330 - 350 hp. And you can use hybrids too and bio-fuel engines too, as many car makers sell road-going versions of both fuels - therefore making the series more attractive.
The cars should be production based, as Fabian says - to cut costs. But they should be superior to S2000 spec cars to remain a premier series.
Exactly, cars like the 190 Evo II, RS Cosworth, M3 EVO and original 'class 1' Alfa 155 are what made the DTM great.
The original class 1 regs got out of countrol, now the same is happening with current cars.
