That's the crucial question, would Flavio let Hekki RACE Alonso, or would Kovy have to back off everytime Alonso appears to be slower?
I reckon Flavio will hamper Kovy's career, if this were to happen.
Kovy onlt drove an non-TC car two years ago, it's been 6 years since Alonso has - he will probably feel lost.

Flav would then get shitty with Alonso like he has done with Fisco/Trulli in the past. Perhaps they'd consider a driver swap... Heikki in return for Fernando... McLaren seems to be relatively successful with Finnish drivers... Sean
That would be a good deal for Ron Dennis (as long as he can get out of paying Alonso his large salary). I think Ron is sick to death of Alonso, it is like having one of those old biddy yapping dogs around you 24/7.

I honestly do not think that Flav would screw with Kovy.
I do think that Alonso would get all the new car upgrades though.

Alonso will of course get number one status treatment - no question about it.

Now teams have heard that Alonso isn't happy at Mclaren, a few must now want him. So they are waiting to see what is happening. This is bad for golden oldies like Fisi and Ralf, who's future in F1 looks very fragile - they probably want a new contract as soon as possible.

Seems like Ralf is getting really wazzed of with keep on asking what and where he will be racing next season!
Schumacher told the German broadcaster Premiere at Fuji Speedway on Friday that the news will not be forthcoming until the circus rolls into Sao Paulo late next month "at the earliest". "I don't know how often I have been asked the same question," Ralf added. "I will answer it at the end of the season."
And he has now said he will tell us all at the final race of the season (Brazil) i couldnt imagine it being anything else other than we expect....the door!
And it seems that Wurz is going to be out of his racing seat at Williams but not out of there completley!
Wurz, 33, also revealed recently that he had reached some sort of "agreement" with Sir Frank Williams not to give any hints about their plans for next year. It sparked rumours that Wurz, who raced for three seasons until 2000 and then spent six years as a full time McLaren and Williams test driver, could still be in the paddock next year but in a very different role.
It looks like he will end up testing or i think possibly he could get a higher position within the teams technical department, because he is by far the most intelligent (technical knowledge) driver on the grid!

Wurz would be superb in some kind of technical role, because of his excellent communication, experience and knowledge.

He is a great technical driver and is excellent at setting up a car.
That doesn't make him a great race car driver though.
I would like to see him back at McLaren helping Lewis next year because Pedro cannot be trusted no more.

Yeah Ron should try and get him back, Wurz is a great tester.

Judging from this season I'd say they are doing better without him.
On the drivers market, I wonder if Alonsos reassurence that he would stay at Mclaren will be reversed now he is on the back foot. I can't see how he can stay there, the car isn't suited to him and Mclaren won't change that after everything thats happened. Alonso is a waste of a Mclaren seat in terms of potential, its also a waste of Alonso potential, looking at his driving this year compared to the last 2 years, its not the same driver. I'd like to see Mclaren be brave and try Di Resta or Paffett, they will be more suited to the team.

Well Ralf has announced he's leaving Toyota, jumping before he's pushed!!

Alonso turns up the heat! "I'd be delighted if I didn't carry on with Hamilton".
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsp ... 022171.stm
And Flabio confirms he offered Nando his old job back.
So, whadda yer reckon?
Flabio buys out the rest of Nanado's contract from Mac - Mac use the money to pay part of the FIA fine - Nando goes back to Renault, Fisi goes to Toyota?
Hamilton and who for McLaren?

Let's assume, as seems likely (especially after Flavio's unambiguous statement that there is a seat for Fernando as #1 whenever he wants it), that Fernando goes to Renault next year.
That would leave the following seats available, as I see it...
1. Renault #2 ... but almost certainly Heikki
2. McLaren team-mate to Lewis...
3. Toyota team-mate to Trulli...
4. Williams team-mate to Nico...
5. 2 seats at Prodrive
6. 2 seats at whatever Spyker becomes, presumably one to go to an Indian (Narain?)
I reckon the rest will stay pretty much the same...
So basically 6 seats completely open (McLaren, Toyota, Williams, Prodrive x2 and Spyker)... there might be a few "exchanges", but for now let's assume there aren't and everybody who's still in remains where they are.
I think Toyota might go for a Japanese driver... it is, after all, a Japanese manufacturer, and it's their lake that the Japanese GP will be at next year again... Nakajima has experience of F1 this year testing with Williams, could it be him?
Prodrive, it seems, is fated to take on Pedro (though I wouldn't give him e-mail access if I was Dave Richards) and somebody else... Alonso would have been an obvious choice were it not for the fact that he'd probably hate being in a 'b' team even more than being in a team on equal standing with a rookie, and we've already pre-supposed that he's going to Renault so that's a done deal... I think Timo Glock might be a good candidate for this team, especially if they (as expected) adopt a customer McLaren... Lewis has shown that one can move from excelling in GP2 to excelling in F1 in a McLaren... could Glock do the same?
Williams, of course, is sponsored by RBS and so they might be tempted to get a Scot in... there are no end of such people around the motorsport scene, including the reigning Indy champion...
The rest? Well - anybody's guess... Nelson Picquet Jr. would presumably be in the running for a seat somewhere...

Nakajima to Toyota?
Nah, they don't need him. He would win any powersliding award, but he seriously needs to calm down in the cockpit.
Timo to Prodrive sounds great, he would go don't brilliantly.
As you identify, many line-ups are yet to be confirmed.

Doesn't seem to work like that with Japanese teams... they don't need to be able to drive, just to be Japanese and have a few sponsors to bring to the team.
