There are many, aside from car spec.
The btcc runs 3 races on sundays, gt 2 over the weekend.
GT racing has driver changes during 1 hour races, btcc races are give or take 25 mins depending on track layout

BTCC cars are basically the same as WTCC ones, British GT is more like FIA GT's as a rough guide. So BTCC is more like saloon cars like BMW 320 and Vauxhall Vectra, and GT's is for sports and GT cars like Aston Martin DB9 and Ferrari 430

So both are stock cars... but WTCC cars have more massive production... cheaper? Am I right?

Essentially, yes, both touring cars and GT's start with the road car shell and add engine, roll cage, suspension etc, unlike say DTM which is a purpose built chassis with survival cell, and bodywork etc added later. I would have thought touring car would be cheaper, but not sure how much by. Motorbase have their BTCC SEAT Toldeo's dating from 2003 and used last year still for sale around £100,000 for 2 cars, not sure how much a GT car from a few years ago would compare.

Yeah, the WTCC cars are touring cars, the 3 brands in WTCC (BMW, Chevrolet, SEAT) all have cars in BTCC although many are run by privateers, only SEAT and Vauxhall are works cars.

no no no.. I made a mistake.. I wanted to say that cars in GT class are more like sport cars... and cars in wtcc are more like ordinary cars, if you compare them with cars from gt...

Darth...
From the outside the BTCC and WTCC touring cars are essentially 2 litre 4 door family cars. Obviously on the inside they are racing cars.
GTs are essentially hi-end sports cars, from prestige brands such as Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin
Their specifications vary from GT category to GT category... but are essentially based on the road going engines and chasis.

I think this is a very fair question by Darth Vader. In FIA rules there is NO SUCH THING as a GT class!! There is, however, GT1, GT2, GT3 and GT4. So we have to identify which category the GT is running in. Also, to an outsider, to see the same BMW model racing in GT's and Touring Cars that could be/or is confusing. Neither the WTCC nor the BTCC is worth watching. The first is boring, with so few manufacturers taking part, plus, in my opinion, commentators giving too much encouragement to the American, Japanese and Korean vehicles. Then the BTCC is not proper racing, it is stock car racing, with the main overtaking manouver being the punt off the circuit. Chevrolet, with their Kias' pretending to be proper cars, and all while Vauxhall and Opel are threatened with being closed down. Typical American exploitation. The racing is also more boring because they do not enforce track-edge rules. Too many car drivers go off-line deliberately to gain an advatage. Ban them from the next race, that would improve the standard of driving. When you look back at the BTCC and the ETCC, with Alfa, BMW, Ford, Volvo, Renault racing, and Vauxhall, Toyota and Nissan getting in the way, mush more like real racing. I love saloon car racing, and I love sports car racing, but I don't watch either of the WTCC nor BTCC now, because they are boring. And as to who came up with the stupid idea of weight penalties for success, they should be used to mark the edge of a chicane instead of using a cone. Success forces others to try harder, adding weight to good cars, holds back development. Rubbish idea. The real racing these days is in the LMS series. although I am keeping a copy of the last round of the World GT1 race, phew, what a race that was. Also the historic car racing scene, and the smaller club promotions are more exciting, than the "important" championships.

wtcc has turned into a farce. the morocco race from this year where there was only 2 flying laps due to the banger racing. diesel turbo v petrol engines were too uneven and poor driving standards. btcc, one factory make complaining when semi private team was faster.and again poor driving standards which are let go..but good suport package and coverage on itv 4. i do like the fia gts. different cars suite different circuits. weighted cars to keep them close.close racing, better driving. v8 supercars, cars kept close, strict driving standards, close racing, great coverage.and v8`s
