well dont forget that it wont be long until the cars at le mans look a little like them. And derek bell did a few laps of oulton park last year in the le mans winning bentley and he is still as fast driver so hopefully he will still run a few races each year.

The DP looks similar to the Peugeot 908 HDI, in the sense that the roofline is quite high.

They are pretty rubbish racing machines though. Similar size cars in europe are significantly faster, and if ALMS were to become part of the rolex 24hours (be nice if they were, wouldnt it), the audi's etc would be lapping closer to the 1:35 times!

You speak from experience of driving one? Thought not.

You might like to read a few of the quotes from drivers who have been enjoying themselves in DP's this weekend.

For example:-

Ollie Gavin - "It was good racing against some good guys. I managed to catch a pack including Pat Long, Ricardo (Zonta) and Alex Gurney. We had a good dice for awhile, a good battle. It was quite evenly matched, I think, between all of us.


The Rolex series is all about starting on an equal footing, in that anyone can buy a car and race it. The concept is totally different to that of the ALMS/Le Mans so it is pointless (and very boring!) comparing them.

That quote makes sense to me, and that's what I said above. We saw such close racing, nobody had a huge advantage.

ALMS/LMS protoype's are a different type of car, so a comparsion is unfair.
