It looks like Africa is out of the question of the foreseeable future, given the current political situation there, which is a shame as we could lose some of the event's heritage, but I'm sure the new routes will create more great events.

Yeah it is a real shame that Africa might but be the future of the Dakar with all the hertige. However I think for the first time international motorsport has been affected by political problems, and maybe its not the only time...

Gonna miss those dunes next year.
Eurosport are showing highlights of recent Dakars, although they are not coming on at scheduled times because of live snooker. It's been good to get a little fix of Dakar though.
